Just drove bike back by turning up throttle screw, broken cable! Suppose to go to Minnesota sat so I got 2 days to fix or take car. Are these hard to replace? Do you need to remove the fuel tank? Anyone who has done it please tell me what you know about it. Gonna try and get parts tomorrow, thought I would try dealer and maybe overnight them, never had to get anything in a hurry before. Thanks

You can replace without removing the tank. Remove the tank mounting bolts and lift the front edge of the tank up about 1" put a small block of wood in there to hold it up, you then have enough room, well I did anyway and I have quite big hands.

Probably getting the cable will be a bigger deal than changing it

Before removing the broken cable, tie a cord to the end and you will have a means to installing the new cable thru all the bends and turns.
Lubricating the outer covering will aid in installing the new cable.
Don't worry about any mess since a good wash job will clean it all up.
