Rained all day today. I put a Goodyear Assurance TT on my black I/s. Been riding the streets of Chicago for hrs. What a ride! Lots of work but fun. Don't know if/or how long I will keep it on til I can get some hwy. miles in. It is most definately a different motorcycle now.

Jammer:
I'm going darkside soon. When you said, "It is most definately a different motorcycle now," is that a good thing or a bad thing? What was the biggest difference you noticed?
What size tire did you use? Did you do the fender nut mod? Is there any rubbing?
Inquiring minds want to know. ???

I had one on for a couple of K, but Queenbee didn't like what it did at low speeds, and neither did I. Highway and twisties were great, but..... Went to a Cobra 200 and couldn't be happier.
Where are you actually, we're in Glenview. Ever ride with the Fox Valley group?

I have had My Goodyear TT on for just under 20,000 miles and will not go back to a bike tire on this bike. It handles great as far as I am concerned. It is different but not bad at all. The bike tends to want to stand up exiting curves and corners and I have learned to use that to my advantage. I just returned from a trip from central Florida to Detriot Mi. I rode up on side roads through Georgia, Tn, and Ohio and returned on I-75. The tire was great on both.

Dr. J
I did the nut cage mod previously when I installed a Bridgestone 200 battleaxe, because Riding 2 up it rubbed a little. The Goodyear does not rub anywhere. Not a lot of clearence between the tire & drive shaft but hasn't rubbed or scrubbed at all. Today I ran on gravel backroads with no issues. Running 36 # for now.
Sometimes it feels like the bike is taking U for a ride rather than the other way around. Top speed so far was about 60 mph in town.
I like it & I don't like it. Will probably run it to Sturgis this yr. for kicks. I gotta say it is fun but more work, sorta like musceling an old sidecar rig.
Kingbee, I am in Burbank Ill. Have ridden with the Fox Valley guys on occasion. A few yrs. ago to Valpo Ind. for a bike/car show.
Last yr. rode on the Wis. VOAI ride with Taz & Co. Have ridden with them several times. Also did the Helen Ga. run yrs. ago.
I have a 98 Tourer with 65 K. My I/S is pushing 40K. Both bikes have dual hitches & are set up to pull my HF trailer.

Doc.
205x60x16. I do all my own tire changes. I have done a few on the road, on the ground. Getting the tire off & on the wheel is much easier than getting the wheel off a Valk.

Hey Jammer , I agree with the other Darksiders on that it handles a little different and seems to be more sensitive to road imperfections but not a whole lot and I guess it depends how aggressive the tread is on your C/T but for the most part on my Valk with the Micheline Pilot has been great with no problems ..... I have about 8800 miles on the C/T since Dec. and loving it ..... now last weekend driving at 3000 rpm's constant riding two up and running a 205-55-16 tire I got 40 mpg on both fillups ..... so as long as I stay with in the 3000 rpm range , I fewer stops at the gas station .... I finally got the air pressure down , with just me I ride with 35 lbs. hot max and with my honey I'll run about 38 lbs hot max and with the trailer ..... but I think the next time I'll be going with the 205-65-13 size and see if I can improve on the gas mileage ...... so enjoy DARKSIDING ....

I was against going over for a long time. I rode bike tires until I had 43,000 on my bike. I got sick of the time and expense and tried my Good Year TT. I now have 65,000 on the bike same CT with 22,000 on it. It took me a couple of hundred miles to figure it out but now when I am on my son's bike or a friend's bike the handling feels strange. It takes a little more to put her into the corners but once she is there the bike feels rock steady, and coming out of a curve she will stand back up very easy. I love the tire for braking and wet roads. My buddy likes it so much he put a CT on his C50 Suszki and another friend put one on his VTX 1800.
I will not go back on this bike, not sure about my next bike but will not be afraid to give it a try.

Kingbee, do you know if the Cobra 200 is the same diameter as the stock size? I currently have a GYTT on because my stock Venom got a puncture and it was half wore out anyhow.
