Tire plug question

It has been 30 years since I've plugged a tire, back then not to many choices. I've been looking at plug kits, what type and brand seems to work the best?

There are several to choose from. I have the Stop-N-Go plugger and have used it four times and it works well.

I have also used the system offered by Progressive, which works well also. I prefer the Stop-N-Go

I carry the Stop & GO along with a small compressor from Harbor Freight. I like them both.

Got to use my Stop & Go Today! Works great. Was going down the Highway @ 120 km when the Fat Lady
started to dance as well as sing. Hole in my rear tire, managed to pull over on an off ramp.
Only picked up this repair kit 2 weeks ago. Best bucks you will ever spend and easy to use.

The Dyna Plug is better for small holes. If you pick up a small finishing nail, you have to ream out the hole to accept the Stop N Go plug. I have the Stop n Go kit but like the other one too. www.dynaplug.com They can be found at harbor Freight.

U can get by with the  over the counter  string plugs from Pep Boy or any auto pts.  store or WallMart. I have had good results using them.  I recently got the Stop & Go kit but have not had to use it.   Knock Wood.

I carry the stripped down compressor from walmart for about 10 bucks. I use the string plugs from walmart also. I found it a lot easier to use the "T" handle plug kit as it gives you better control and handling when installing the plug.

I'm with you right down the line Bubbles.  I got string plugs, glue and decent size T-handle auger and plugger (because the little screwdriver-handled tools can kill your hands trying to push through a radial) at Napa, and the Slime pump from Wallyworld.  With the cover off the pump, the whole kit fits inside the little hard zipper case the pump comes with.  And the pump SAE plug goes right into the Battery tender pigtail already on the bike. Also carry a few extra tools besides the OE kit, and a headband LED light to work in the dark.

Hey SMS ,  like all the other guys have said its just cheap insurance and beats the hell out of sitting on the side of the road .... I too have the t-handle kit with the sticky string plugs , but the trick is the glue you use ..... I use the glue that comes in a small can called Universal Cement by Victor that I dunk the string plug in first before I stick it to the hola ...... some of those tube glues don't last because they will dry up once you open it up I found ....  and don't forget the small compressor because they are a God send .... from experience ...... now the only difference with my Valk is that I'm also using Amer - Seal  tire sealant in both tires and the trailer tires , works grrreeat !!! no flats .... I have had a nite mare with that Slime green stuff , no worky for chit ... and stay  away from Fix-a-flat .... Thanks
