This is being provided for informational purposes only. If you are not a gun owner or just want to argue, please don't even read it.
This was from a friend...
I went on line and email my Representative;  Cliff Sterns my opinion on H. R. 45.  I urge everyone to do the same.

HR 45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sales Act of 2009
Please send this to everybody on your list... this is Obama guncontrol by secrecy.
Very Important for you to be aware of a new bill HR 45 introduced into the House.
This is the Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sale Act of 2009.
We just learned yesterday about this on the Peter Boyles radio program.
Even gun shop owners didn't know about this because it is flying under the radar.
To find out about this - go to any government website and type in HR 45 or Google HR 45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sales Act of 2009. You will get all the information.

The Government would have the right to come and inspect that you are storing your gun safely away from accessibility to children and fine is punishable for up to 5 yrs. in prison.

If you think this is a joke - go to the website and take your pick of many options to read this..
http://www.opencong/ress.org/ bill/111- h45/text

It is long and lengthy. But, more and more people are becoming aware of this. Pass the word along.
FAILURE TO DO SO AT YOUR PERIL!

The Snopes link you provided says that the bill has no cosponsors. It further states that if it got a vote or passed, the Dems would lose control in Washington after the next election, so it will probably die in committee.

The fact that any elected official would think this was right, just, or American scares the livin' hell out of me.

Proposals being run up the flagpole to see if they are noticed and who salutes. Scary.

The conventional wisdom is Oslammer and the socialists want all the gun control and universal licensing and registration (precursor to confiscation) they can get.  BUT they absolutely plan for the Slammer to get reelected in four, and will not push this agenda in any significant way until that eventuality happens, so as not to upset it.  In the second four look out.  Plan ahead.

Heard about HR45. I think that it is dying on the vine.

Other better news is HR17:
http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h17/show
Unlike H.R.45 which as no co-sponsors, H.R.17 has 19 co-sponsors.

May be dead for now but worth watching those politicos.  I think everyone should have at least one good unregistered gun and maybe an old fashion assault rifle buried somewhere with a case of ammo.

I won't worry to much about the commies banning firearms, until they get socialized medicine. Once they control 1/6 th of the economy and can claim that firearms are a risk factor and they won't cover you if you own them, its over.

BTW, the health/ ban guns thing has been tried already by the CDC a couple of times already. Once they are in charge it is a piece of cake.

I believe the only President that limited gun ownership laws was Reagan-limiting the ownership of assault weapons.
On the positive side of this argument, this "chicken-little" mentality helps out the economy.Weapons and ammo sales are off the hook.

Nope, it was Clinton (D) that signed the look alike ban. His demo congress also tried to pass a "cop killer bullet" ban for bullets that had never even wounded a cop and was written so ignorantly that it would have banned all hunting ammo and most target ammo.

New production of fully automatic weapons by civliians was banned under Reagan (R) which means that if you want a machine gun, it had to be manufactured prior to 1986. That is why a Browning 1919 that sold for 2500 prior to is now worth over 5 figures.

The GCA of 1968 which made the ownership of fully automatic firearms that were of forien manufacture unlawful was signed by Nixon (R).

Prior to that there was the gun control act in 1934, FDR (D) that made for the taxing ( D remember?) and registration of privatly owned maching guns.
