2014 Valkyrie 1800

Seminole, Florida

« on: August 11, 2013, 06:14:55 PM »

Went for a morning ride 5:00am-10:00am stopping at Waffle House for a bacon egg & cheese samich...boy howdy that was good.
The best part is that I've had new engine guards for about a year sitting in my parts closet and never put them on because the last time I installed them on a friends Valkyrie it was a bear. They didn't line up. Well these lined right up no problem, and put on new Kurry highway pegs replacing my aging pegs. All went well, very pleased.
To top it off, looks like we have a spot to gather and ride in Inverness. Good Day. Smiley

Doug, I've wrenched on numerous Valks over the years and it never ceases to amaze me about those engine guards. As you said...some line up perfect with no hassle. Yet some for whatever reason will test your patience to the Nth degree, almost makes you forget everything you learned in Sunday School.  Wink

I've found if I leave all the bolts loose once started, I can usually get them mounted OK. I've run into a couple where I simply had to take them back off and get out the rubber mallet for some armstrong adjustments.

Hope to see you guys soon.
