Doug, I've wrenched on numerous Valks over the years and it never ceases to amaze me about those engine guards. As you said...some line up perfect with no hassle. Yet some for whatever reason will test your patience to the Nth degree, almost makes you forget everything you learned in Sunday School.

I've found if I leave all the bolts loose once started, I can usually get them mounted OK. I've run into a couple where I simply had to take them back off and get out the rubber mallet for some armstrong adjustments.
