I'm wanting a bike lift.  I currently have a Craftsman motorcycle floor jack/lift, but I still have to get down low to work on the Valk.  Old knees and old back arn't really conducive to working low to the ground.  I'd like something higher for routine maintainance.  The problem is, I don't have the space for a bike lift.

Space is veeeeery limited as I only have a small one car garage for a work space.  My poor over cramped little garage also doubles as a laundry room, crafts room, workshop, storage area, man room and parking space for the Valk.  There's little room for anything else let alone a standard type bike lift.

So, I've been looking around all over the internet and asking a few questions here and there and have narrowed my search down to the Kendon......mostly because of it's capacity to take up little room when not in use.

If the Kendon turns out to have issues that I'm not aware of, then I'm pretty much outta luck, simply because I haven't found anything else that'll fit in my limited area.

Does anyone have any experiences with the Kendon.....especiallly with a Valk on it?  It doesn't look like it has any out-riggers on it...and that is a concern for me, but I'd like to hear from anyone that might have first hand experience with it.  I do like the roll-on and lock wheel-lock that's on it.  That's a plus.  And the price doesn't seem too bad either.

If the Kendon won't do, are there any other alternatives out there that will store away easily and not take up precious space?

This was discussed on a Gold Wing board not long ago. This lift looks too narrow to be stable once you raise it up very high. Handy makes great lifts. Look into them.  http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=212270

Sandy.....Is this the G/W forum you're talking about?.....................

http://gl1800riders.com/forums/showthread.php?t=189513&highlight=kendon

In that discussion, there's a response from "KendonGuy".  He says that the Kendon has the exact same footprint as the Handy lift.  If that's true, then the Handy just has a wider table, weights twice as much and takes up lots of space.  Again, if that's true, then why would the Kendon be anymore less stable than a Handy lift?

Here's what he said......

"Thank you for your feedback on our Kendon Stand-Up Motorcycle Lift. I’d like to offer support from the Kendon team to answer any questions about our products.

In response to a couple of forum concerns: The Kendon Bike Lift sits very low and the platform to load/unload the bike is just 4 inches off the ground. Of course it’s always safe to have someone with you to help out, but the loading ramp is a relatively small incline allowing an individual to walk the bike onto the lift. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND RIDING YOUR BIKE ONTO THE LIFT. The narrow design of the bike lift offers close proximity to allow owners to get up close and personal with their bike. Still, as a reminder, the footprint of the Kendon Bike Lift is exactly the same as the heavy duty handy lifts. Our engineers have designed the lift to be as sturdy as the heavy duty handy lift, to stand-up and store conveniently, and maintain a weight capacity of 1,000 lbs.

You can visit our Kendon Cruiser Lift Demo -
Kendon Stand-Up™ Trailerspowered by Aeva
to get a better visual of the loading procedure.

Hopefully this info has helped. Please feel free to contact us with any questions about the product.

Thanks!
Kendon

I'm still waiting to hear from someone with actual experience with a Kendon.....hopefully with a heavy bike like the Valkyrie.
