I've got a few issues with my "new to me" 98 Standard.
I've read the headlight threads, after doing a search. I'm just not a electrical guy, makes me nervous tearing into it, when I don't have a clue what's going on..
I have no headlight, high or low beam.. It's been sort of working off and on for the last few weeks (1,500 miles) now it's out..
Also, I'm going to have the rear end serviced.. I will try to hang out and watch, so I can do it myself next time.. I've just had this bike a few weeks, and want to make sure it's right before I head out on a long trip.. (I like long trips, went to Deadhorse AK earlier this summer, on a different bike.)
Any help, with a good mechanic around St Louis, that I can trust, would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jeff

Hey Jeff...don't know if I can be trusted but I am a decent wrench turner and understand electricity fairly well and I live in Arnold.  I would gladly help you out as much as I can.  What time frame are you talking about?  We can get together sometime and work on your issues...and we can work on your bike too.  Cheesy

Drop me a private message or email at JoeValkIS@spirit-1100.com and we can work out the details.

I can gladly vouch for Joe. Both a great mechanic and a great guy. He took care of several problems for me on my bike and it was easy to see that he knew what he was doing. Let Joe help you. You will not be disappointed. Hef

Thanks Mike,
I think I still had a working headlight when we met.  Ha!
Thanks for the welcome.
