OEM Grip

 The plastic chrome piece that fits on the end of the grip has come loose.  Probably from the Cramp Buster I have had for a few years.  Also have Brake Away throttle lock on inner portion of the grip.  I like resting palm on the plastic cramp buster as I ride.

  Don't see this on parts section of HDL.  Looks like a little white plastic piece inside the chrome piece was holding it on.  Still stays on when I push it onto the black piece where it fits.

Suggestions?  should I just use some superglue to glue it in place??

Mine did the same thing.  I replaced the grip.

My right grip was the same way when I bought my Valk.  Its my understanding that the CHrome piece snaps/screws onto the end of the throttle tube. That's the piece that's broken off into chrome piece.  I just went and ordered a new set of grips from the local dealer (they match HDL prices for me)

That piece screws on, and is the same for most of the Honda bikes. Only about $12 at your local MC dealer (in Canada), so should be even cheaper in the US of buying online from one of the lower priced onliners.

You may have to buy a few more pieces to cover the shipping, so wait till you need more things.

You could glue it if you have something to glue it to (not the handle bar), depending on what it is wrong with it. Or maybe some Locktite.

The chrome cap screws onto the plastic throttle tube.  You have a broken throttle tube.  You can try glue, but you must be careful not to get glue inside the throttle tube, as the tube must rotate around the handlebar.

Honda sells the throttle tube and handgrip as a set.  Part No. 53145-MFR-305.  $26.82 (plus S&H) at HDL.  I am unaware of anyone selling the plastic throttle tube as a stand-alone item.

Pinwall typically sells both grips, the throttle tube, and the right side switches as a set for $29.95 (plus $13.33 S&H).  But, it has been a while since I have seen one for sale (and I am looking to buy).

    thanks guys.  and thanks for part number vanagon.  it seems like I could just add a little glue or locktite to the outside of the grip being careful not to get any inside.  if not will just replace throttle tube and grip as suggested.

Just two days ago I did what was suggested above.  Put some locktight on the thread inside the cap, then screwed it back on.

Teflon tape works wonders in this type of situation and also using black RTV silicone gasket sealer works in many repairs.
