Ok did not see on here where this had been talked about so here goes has anyone run or do you run this filter?
Kinda pricey but the saving might add up plus the ability to check your filter anyhow here is a link..

I got one on my bike, at this point it seems to be working OK.  I use to use OEM filters and considered oil filter cover, you want to talk about pricey. I read many threads about alternative filters but you got to understand the filter is the harts blood. Go cheap now and you will pay later.  So I looked around and found the billet for $105 out the door. For what it does I thought it was fair. Good filter, no cheap cover, it is well made and it lasts forever.

actually if you read up on filters on here there is some GREAT information.  You will find as far as construction and materials the Walmart model is top of the list at about $2-3 each.  I was totally skeptical at first but after reading the info and looking at the filters cut open and explained i was sold. Also read  http://www.tobycreek.org/oil_filters/acdelco.shtml

If you change out the filter at each 2-3k miles you will still be ahead of the game.  Also Jess from Va turned me onto a HD shock tower cover that fits perfectly and is chromed for about $12.  You get two for $25 and can split with someone or hold onto it until the other is worn.  Looks fantasic for about 1/32 the price of hondaline or most aftermarket covers.

Basically bogus, I think if you look at old tech archive you will see discussions about this very thing. The stainless filters only go to 25 microns most after market go to 10 or below most wear occurs at 15 and up so you guess why they dont work to well. Wink

I have the Cobra cover from Hondaline and really like it - both looks and usability.  Have used OEM filters with good results, but currently have the Amsoil filter on for the summer...a couple of thousand miles and the oil is still running clean.

I do wish that I had thought of the beer can system before I bought the "nice" cover.  Every ride could have a custom "flag" runnin' behind the front wheel - soft drinks for school and church functions...beer cans for family reunions and stuff like that. Roll Eyes

Basically, the beer can system rocks! cooldude
