The wife is looking for a carry gun and has her eye on a certain Ruger.
There are gunshows in both Austin and San Antonio this w/e.

We're gonna be in New Braunfels this w/e for our annual family Schlitterbaun thing.

We'll have time to make one of the shows after the "good-bys" to the family on Sunday, which will be about noonish.
However we are undecided which one to attend.

Has anyone here attended these shows? (Preferably both)
If so, is one better than the other? Or are they about the same?

The distance home from either SA or Austin is about the same (110-120 miles).

I can't answer your specific question on those locations and you might want to mention which gun show company/group is putting them on as that can be a good indicator of what the size will be, but I'll leave that to the central tx crowd to answer.

Here's my other alternative for you. Keep riding the good roads and order it from Gander Mountain, GunBroker.com or TexasGunTrader.com and pay an FFL in Victoria to take the shipment and transfer it to you. Many of the FFLs who take shipments only charge $10 for CHL holders.  If you don't mind used, you can also check out TexasGunTalk and keep an eye out on the classifieds there and on Two Wheel Texan in the Guns & Stuff sub-group in classifieds.

Happy shootin' and ridin'!

Thanks SideCar for the response.

Yeah this looked vague when I posted but I honestly didn't know who was putting these on.  We just looked up "gunshow" on google (I think) and saw these that were close by.
We did go to the one in SA and learned a lot as this was the first one like this we ever attended. And I gotta say - I liked it!!

Also, SideCar, thanks for the suggestions and the sites.
But what is FFL? I take it that's not Fantasy Football League, right? or is it?

Glad you enjoyed it.
FFL=Federal Firearms Licensee = gun dealer. There are a lot of guys who do this on a small scale out of their homes and because handguns aren't supposed to be shipped directly to the end user, you can pay these guys $10-$15 to take the shipment for you. There is a list on GunBroker so you can find one close to you if you want that service.  They take the shipment and handle the same paperwork as if you were buying at a store or from a dealer at a gun show.
