Hey all,

I've decided that the aftermarket Cobra 6-into-6 pipes aren't for me.  I like the rumble, but they're just too loud.  I live in the city and often feel self-conscious that I'm making such a ruckus.  Part of the reason I went with the Valk was to buck the Harley / V-Twin macho posturing stereotype.  The only other riders in SF with super loud pipes are Hell's Angels or other Clubbers.  Some of them assume I'm trying to make some kind of statement and try to race me.  This happens almost once a week!

Anyway, the previous owner also bought new OEM exhausts which he never installed, which I now have.  I'm going to swap them out, but want to know if there's a need to re-jet the carbs when I do.  I'm not what was done when the Cobras were first installed.  Advice?

Pull a needle and see if it is adjustable with an "e" clip.  If not, then he probably didn't rejet originally.

If you ever do carb maintenance then you can see if the mains were changed from stock #100 (USA bikes).

I hear you! Been there, done that!
When I purchased my Valk, it had Cobra exhaust pipes and  Cobra needles were  in my carbs.
After installing an OEM exhaust it was necessary to remove the cobra needles and reinstall OEM ones ... because the bike was now running way too rich.
You might need to do the same thing. Your plugs will tell you.
