I had to replace wheel bearings in the rear wheel, pulled the wheel, got that done.  When reassembled the brakes will not fully release.  Result, super hot rotor.  Before I get started, is there anything I should or should not know?  I hate working on brakes, btw.  Hoser   Angry Angry  (Update posted below.)

Hoser-when mine locked up-rear brake-in the garage and after I got it tore down the exposed parts of the pistons were very NASTY. Needed compressed air to get the pistons out Scotch Brite on the nasty part of the pistons new O-rings-good to go.  cooldude So yeah what i'm saying is rear caliper rebuild.  crazy2 RIDE SAFE.

Sounds like your pistons need cleaning.  You can remove the caliper w/o pulling the wheel by removing the pin bolt.  PITA, but the results are worth it.  Just did one of mine and piece of mind is good. cooldude

I had a customer's rear brake lock up after I finished going through his bike.  Turned out to be the rear master cylinder.  There is a return hole, extremely tiny, that was clogged with debris. Removed it from the bike and I used a piece from the smallest string of a guitar to clean it out.  Worked like a charm.  Of course, cleaned all components thoroughly and purchased a rebuild kit.

Pretty easy if you have the right size snap ring pliers.  Sort of hard to put the rubber over the end of the plunger, but a little brake fluid helps a lot.

I took the caliper to a good independent shop that I use. I know my limitations!   Shocked Shocked  Hoser
