Went out yesterday to start my 99 I/S and it wouldn't do anything.  Put it on the battery charger until this afternoon.  Charger still showed an amber light, meaning battery still wasn't charged.  Turned the key on and nothing came to life except the red oil light.  No neutral light, no odometer, nothing.  LEDs wouldn't even come on.  Checked the battery with the voltmeter and it was showing 6.7 volts.  Not sure what it should be showing.  Bad battery?  Fuse?  Switch?  Help!

Id say bad battery, should be in the high 13 range. 13.8 or 9 if I remember right.

Mine would do that with my last battery. Just oil light, but it would charge enough to start. Replaced it and problem fixed.

Battery I would say.  Start there.  You might remove the battery and put it on the charger and see what it does before buying a new one.  I doubt that you ran it down that low.  But your alternator would be the next thing to try after installing a new battery.  Charge it before you install it.
