Congrats on the new buy. There's a windshield replacement called clear view , you can get it at clearview.com but it comes with no chrome and no hardware at all but its better quality shield. The hard part is finding the chrome that goes on the shield and the mounting hardware. Goodluck

Congrats to your friend Mike.  Like Larue said you can get replacement shields from Clearview but you the main thing you need is the hardware.  OEM is the best shield for wind/air flow so tell him to hold out for one, keep looking until he finds one.  Maybe someplace like Pinwall cycle the outfit that parts out bikes.

the  ebay link posted  by indiandave is helpful however you still need the chrome piece that goes across the windshield, it's also missing the mounting hardware, the bar that goes under the headlight and the twopieces that hold the throttle cable and the cluctch cable and secure the shield. hope that  helps

It might work, but I would strongly suggest that he hold out for an OEM shield.  It does a much better job of wind/turbulence control because of it's shape.

So I have one question did you clue him in on the VRCC site 411?

Some friends and co-workers of my wife are going to ride up that way on Sunday, heading to Doc's Pub for some grub. We're leaving Parish around 10am, so if it fits with your plans, let me know.
