I have seen many post on the pressing out of the rear drive spline. And I'm now searching for a wing drive. What year 1500 wing drive will work is my question or will all 1500's work?

Hey Dave, I did it successfully, and now have over 3K on the rebuild. Someone will correct me if I am wrong, but I think any year 1500 wing will work for the splines, but only certain years have the five stud driven flange. I got a good one on eBay for $60 with the shipping. I found the most critical thing is having the correct backlash when you are finished, and it seems that if you use the ring gear shim from your drive, you should be right in the ballpark. If not, you can purchase the different sizes from HDL or Partzilla. Good luck, it is pretty straight forward,, also pay attention to the manual for the sealant placement when sealing the unit up, there are some vent holes you do not want the sealant to plug up.

I have been watching ebay too and I have seen 5 and 6 finger flanges. I was going for a 5 flange but sometime they do not show the flange. Thanks for the input

Just try to get one that shows really good pictures of the splines,,,, it is sort of the luck of the draw. I was told to look around for a shop that has done  Goldwing trike conversions since they usually have a ton of old drives laying around,, then you can examine them yourself. I took a chance on eBay and lucked out. A board member sold me a good driven flange.

6 pin flange Wing is 88'-89' only. In 1990 thru 2000, they used the same 5 pin flange as the Valk.

But most posters on ebay don't know this, and list the flange/drive as works for all 88-00 Wings, so you don't know if it is from an 88' or a 90'.
