Finally got around to installing Pingel petcock (OEM was on it's last legs) and new air-filter on my '00 I/S. WOW what a difference!
Just got my I/S this July from my bro-in-law who had owned it for about 6-years and put maybe 9k miles on... Bike had 39k on when I got brought it home and now has 43k and adding more each day.
Not sure if/when BIL ever changed air-filter but couldn't see any daylight through old one when I took it out. Also not sure how restrictive the OEM petcock was on feeding those 6 carbs their petrol but man this thing's really come to life this evening... I suspect my rear tire's life span may have been shortened by at least 1k!
