Dag will be in the big house (Texas) this weekend and it's been suggested that we might want to do a meet-in-the-middle ride this Saturday.

What say you all?

Still hope to meet Dag, but the Grandson's Birthday is Sunday, the 22nd. We are leaving Friday for Arlington. Maybe I can drive the truck and load a bike.

Oops, checked with Grandmother, says the celebration will be Saturday. We must get the Granddaughter back to SFA and my son returns to work Sunday.

Who else from DFW is interested?

We rode to Nacogdoches a couple of years ago for a meet-in-the-middle and it was a great day.

Well, we have to decide whether to meet in Nacogdoches, Centerville, or elsewhere.  I'll post a poll in a separate thread.

Last time around, we met at 11:30 for lunch then headed back home.  [EDIT:  I would like to move it to 11 if there aren't objections]  I'll let each ride group decide when to leave from where.  We'll discuss the Houston ride group at our dinner on Thursday night.

Well, unless I can somehow be excused from a mandatory 9a-12p safety training course at work Saturday morning, I won't be participating.   Sad

Y'all have fun and give Dag a hug for me.

I'm in at about a 20% chance I think... Been too long since I've done one of these.

But even if I go, I'll prolly just get the destination and meet ya'll there, wouldn't wanna be seen riding with a bunch of hooligans like ya'll! Wink

The weather looks pretty tenuous for Saturday.  If you're planning to go on this ride, please keep an eye on this thread in case we decide to make adjustments.

If the rain looks probable, we could move it to Sunday?  Currently Sunday looks to be much better as far as weather is concerned.  And COOLER too.

Sunday works for me, too.  The only thing that I know of that might be a factor is that, at last email exchange, Dag has a dinner meeting scheduled Sunday evening.

I almost got myself in trouble. My 37th wedding anniversary is the 25th of this month which is next Wednesday, but the wife wants to celebrate our anniversary this Saturday. That will cancel me out for the ride this Saturday. If it gets changed to Sunday, I should be able to make it. If not, have a great ride either day you guys decide to go. Smiley

if Dag has a dinner on Sunday evening, a lunch on Sunday should not cause a problem.

If you guys go on Saturday, it will be just like I'm there if Tom's forecast is correct.

On a side note, my wife and I are in San Antonio today at an education conference.  It's raining.  The last time we were in San Antonio, it rained 10 inches in 24 hours.

I understand I am about to be given the key to the city.

Well, I was hoping that if I waited long enough, the forecast would clear, but it's not happening.
So, the official word:  We're riding on Sunday.  While riding in the rain isn't something I'm squeamish about, it can get dreary after a while, and if this is to be a ride just for the fun of it (which it is), then let's have more fun and ride on a clear(er) day.
However, same plan:  11AM, Woody's Smokehouse, but SUNDAY.

I'll post about Houston meeting locations soon.

Who is going to join us from Houston?  That will define our meetup location.
I see Dag (of course), myself, HayHauler, Wizard, Phyllis, HG and FB (maybe), and Franco.  RedDiamond, will you join us, or are you going to just take a more direct route?

If you're not listed, but planning to join us from the Houston area, holler (along with where you will be coming from to meet us).
