I recently inserted the metal sleeve that goes inside the lower shock bushing for my 99 Tourer.

I used a C clamp to fit it, it seemed okay but I cant get the shock to slide into the lower mount. Not sure why.
It fits almost in but its too wide. I wonder if the metal sleeve is too long..not sure why it wont fit.

The bushing inside got pushed out a little trying to get the sleeve in, but not too badly.

Any thoughts are welcome. I hesitate to use too much force cause Im good at breaking things that way.

Probably would have been good to check the sleeve fit before hand.

Now it will be harder.

I wouldn't just go slamming the shock into the holder.

It'll take some ingenuity to work it out correctly.

Get a bigger hammer.

To remove them in the past, I used a couple sockets. One large enough to fit over the sleeve, one small enough to match the diameter of the sleeve. Put it in a vise and slowly crank down on it. It will push the sleeve out into the larger socket.
