I'm confused by the various configurations of cruise pegs and which is the best to put on a 2000 Std.  I am 6' 5" with a 36" inseam and would like something that provides the option to get my legs extended out from the standard pegs.  It seems Kuryakyns are the cadillac of pegs, but am unclear of which model and mounting configuration due to the engine and engine crash bar configuration on a Valk.  Would Model 4041s be the ticket or does one need an offset swingarm?  Do you mount on the crash bar brace under the engine or the ovalish crash bar itself?  They are different diameters aren't they?  Any advice would be appreciated.

I have the Kuryakyn on my STD mounted on the lower crash rail. I am 6ft with a 33 inch inseam and a forward sitting seat and cannot move the pegs far enough forward to stretch out. I suggest that you get the longhorn offset and mount to the guard itself. This will allow a range of adjustment to find the most comfortable position. I plan on setting mine slightly lower and positioned ahead of the actual guard. I have sat a bike with a similar setup and found it to be a good position.

I'm only 5'11", but here's how I mounted my 4050's... "around the corner" of the lower
rail, really comfortable, and the knuckle is less likely to scrape there...

I'm 6'3" and run the pegs off the crash bars at the bends and a outset bar that puts the peg in front of the bars themself. There is a lot of adjustment with this set up.

Second on the "Mick-O-Pegs" option. I replaced the Kuryakyn setup with them and find them vastly superior, especially in avoiding the feeling that I'm preparing for a visit to the gynecologist.

6'4" with also a 36" inseem......   I have the Kuryakyn 4050's with the dually pegs.  This set-up allows so many different configurations that you are bound to find something that fits.  Also, the stem (piece between mount and peg) is available in 2 lengths for even more variation.

The way mine are set up I have the stock (with a lwering kit) position, a position where my heel is on the stock peg and the ball of my foot is on the Kury peg, then I have one more position with my feet only on the Kury pegs.  I am not all the way stretched out as I don't like riding that way, but I have plenty of room and 3 different foot positions if needed.  I also have an Ultimate Kingboy seat.  This puts me back another inch and my ass is thankfull.  Sucks that the Valkyrie is so tight for tall riders.  I also added taller bars (9.5") and might even go a little taller (12").

My foot is in the stock position here.  The kury is in front of my boot in the up position.  You can see that if it were in the down position, I could slide my boot (size 12) forward to rest my foot on both pegs at the same time.  Then I could slide forward again to use just the Kurys.

This pic is with the shorter stem.  I like this as it gave me a little more room and I still have the three foot positions.

The kury's attach to the support that connects to the side of the valk frame.
They do not fit the main crash bar.
If you want to mount pegs on the main bars, you'll want quick clamps.

I have the dually iso peg setups with the long arms.
I added boards,rather than pegs.

yeah  6'5" here with same inseam and the stock pegs placement sucks for long legs

since i have dragged these pegs a few time going around corners i opt'd not to buy the expensive models just to have then screwed up
they stick out a good 7-9" from the engine guard and it doesnt take much to make em look like crap....and they are foot pegs to boot
spending $70 for pegs that are gonna get raked on asphalt just doesnt make much sense to me.

with this configuration i have great leg extension that is comfortable for me but you do have to watch the inner leg on the engine covers!

I had the idea of having those leather elbow patches added to the inner leg of my riding pants so as not to burn the $#^% out of my calf.

i bought the clamps 1 1/8  from directline Inc  for about $15 and i think the actual pegs were about another $15  it works great  and does the trick.

i will have a few photos i can email to you later if you are interested.  kcolney@hotmail.com

With your leg length, your going to have to get your feet out in front. The Kury offset mounts will do the trick. Just need to mount them to the curved engine guard, which means you need the 1 1/8 clamps. You can swivel them forward up to 4" which will give you the reach you need. Here's a link:

Item 7966 is what I got. You can probably mix and match the peg itself if you prefer a different style. My friend has the pilot pegs instead of the Dually's. Just make sure you get the 1 1/8 clamps.

I kind of have the opposite problem with short legs.  And because of the short legs I have a set of Kury 7966 with Dually ISO pegs for sale.  $115 shipped.  http://www.kuryakyn.com/documents/installation/7966-21HD-0308.pdf  If this is not proper to list this here please let me know.
