New To Me August 2013

I am planning a trip to Lubbock to see my kid next weekend and looking at taking hwy 36 all the way from Brenham to Abilene. Anyone taken that route lately that can tell me the condition of the road. Looks like some old road.
With a cold front coming thru it will get down to 50F in Lubbock next sat and the ride back Sunday looks great.

If you are riding  and it is a must that you keep your eyes on the road, you are riding too fast.

Great road, you might have to behave going through some of those small towns though.

I used to take 36 up to I-20 (I think) then jog west to US-84 which goes right into Lubbock.

Texas Tech is a good school.

Marcus,
Just came down 36 today. Actually I did I-27 to 84 to I-20 to 363 to 36 from Amarillo.  Excellent road and a nice change of scenery. Alot of roadside history to look at.
