Bike cut out

On the way home from my trip, the bike cut out for just a second twice once on Tuesday
and then yesterday. I was doing about 70-80, cloudy, cool out not raining. It just cut out
and went right back to normal. Anyone have this happen? Kinda scary when when your
that far from home. Could it be the tank vent or something like a coil or a short?   ???

I have had the same thing happen and so have a lot of other folks judging by responses to the same question.  I don't remember that anyone ever put their finger on why it does occasionally.  Check the connector on the ECM unit and there is another one that has been mentioned too.  I have not looked for it, but think it is underneath down low under the frame? 
But like you it is very troubling when you are on the interstate or a long way from home.

Also check your battery cables for clean/tight connections (both ends).

Thanks Daniel; I'll check that. I have put over 35,000 miles on her and never happened
before. Just a quick blep and back to hauling ass again.

ECM = Electronic Control Module.  The computer that runs the Dragon.  Take the seat off and behind the overflow bottle on the left side you will see it sticking up next to the frame.  Has a connector plugged in from the bottom.

It just happened to me.  Turns out the nut holding the handle bars rested his hand on the emergency off switch while setting a GPS route.  Heart rate jumped and then I realized what I did. 

Did you loose DC power (lighting, Radio, or GPS drop).   I would check the Main fuse (right side cover) and the ground at the motor (rear bottom I think).

Did not notice anything with the lights or anything else. Just happened in a flash and went
back to normal. Will check out the ground and the ecm connect. Just don't want to get stuck
somewhere on the road. Thanks

Definitely sounds electrical. l experienced this same sudden shut-off 4-5 years ago; happened a half dozen times and I didn't know enough about the bike at that point to know where to look. I found the starter relay was beginning to self destruct. Perhaps another component to look into.
