I found that with the stock exhaust, no mods, they do improve the sound, but only slightly. As they are slightly longer, the note of the exhaust is a little deeper. As for louder, maybe a touch, but not much. Overall I found the sound to be much nicer than the stock tips with a nice, mellow growl when opened up. I'd definitely recommend them if you're not after something too loud.

I'l like to hear from someone who has cut the piggies and installed these Hondaline tips. Bet the sound is even nicer!

I have a full face helmet and those tips, on Tourer pipes with uncut piggies... Those tips
don't stick out far enough beyond the piggies to induce the drone that full face helmet
wearers hate, but they do seem louder or deeper or ... something ... at some speeds.

I like mine...

They do change the sound quality for the better.
I do not detect an increase in sound.
Perhaps a sound meter could detect a small difference my ears cannot.
And yes my hearing is excellent.

Personally I like the tone change so much I also bought another set for my Interstate.

Whitestroke I don't know the answer, but for $250 I would look at some other approach to change the exhaust note on your bike. JM2CW  Roll Eyes

I have those on my bike. The previous owner cut the piggies and then installed those tips. What a sound!! Very mean sound. BUT, I found that after a long bike ride, it was resonating in my helmet,
So I reconnected the piggies and reinstalled the tips. Much better for me and the wife. It brings the original sound tone down a bit.

I found some after looking for quite awhile and love them just for the looks but there is a slight sound change but still not loud.

I have had these on my standard for 7 years and love them. I've had a lot of comments from guys who say how they like the sound of my bike.

I have them on my interstate.  and have the piggies cut all the way off.  They are super nice, and give it a nicer sound with the piggies cut.

Thanks for all the replys.  I'm actually looking for something that's a lot louder then stock, that could be be put on when I go for short rides.  Love my stock pipes (unmolested) on all day rides and longer.
These just looked like they could easily be put on and taken off. It's to much trouble to put on my T.B.R. 6 into 6 for just a day.

Sounds like you're looking for some MarkT exhausts...
