I am replacing my vacuum lines and I noticed there was no heat shield under the pare valves.  Should there be one?  How important is it?  I also noted a liquid applied to the air box where the tubes meet the box.  Is there a product I should put on there before I reassemble it?  I would appreciate your advice.

Should I also replace my fuel lines and can I use any fuel line or should I order Honda part number fuel line?

If you replace the fuel line do NOT make it longer.  Keep it the same length and run it the same route.

No, there isn't any heat shield under the PAIR valves. A good majority of Valk owners remove that mess to get rid of all the vacuum lines, thereby preventing future problems with vacuum leaks. Don't worry about any glue type residue where the rubber intakes meet the airbox. Mine, and all the others out there, were disrupted the first time the airbox was removed and never bothered to do anything with them when reinstalling. Hasn't affected the operation one bit.
