Last night I installed Interstate carb springs (on a standard) and now I'm wondering if I need to adjust and re-sync the carbs?
I just did the adjust/sync about 6 months ago.

Personally I don't see the need but I may be missing something.

Also #2 & 6 carbs had more gas "residue" on top of the diaphragm than the others, it wasn't running out or anything just a noticable bit more of a film than the others, and I'm wondering if this is something to be concerned about?

I didn't get a chance to test ride it yet cause by the time I got done it was late and the temp dropped to like a "bone chilling" 55o!!

(actually it was too dark, I just don't like driving at nite fighting idiots with bright lites on, fog lights on, etc...)

Tx,

The carb sync adjusts the amount the flaps are open on the carbs...which adjusts the amount of air passing through the carbs...which draws more or less fuel through the carbs.  Changing out the carb springs shouldn't have an affect on the sync.  The carb springs determine how quickly the main needle is lifted out of the main jet.  I would say ride it.

As Joe said, you really shouldn't need a re-sync. But, how does the monster run ? Does it idle smoothly ? If so, its OK.

I swapped mine out and did not resync.
Saw no need to.

Idled fine and runs great.
Butt dyno could not measure any real difference.

Thanks fellas.  We seem to be on the same page here about this.

I'm not sure how it runs yet, like I said it was late when I got done.
It took a bit to get started once I put the springs in but it hadn't run in about 3 weeks. Once warmed up it idled good as it always did and had good "blipping" throttle response.

It's supposed to be a good day tomorrow and I'm off so hopefully I'll at least get to run it around a bit and see if I can tell any difference.
