If you like antique engines, tractors and cars this is a nice event. If any one is interested, I have a nice route using back roads to the Flywheel park. From my location is is about 68 miles one way to the park.
The park is located on 7000 Avon park bypass road. Here is the link to their site.

If any one wants to take this ride, I am setting it up for Friday the 8th of Nov.  That is usually the best day, the event ends Sat, and most are packing up to leave then. Let me know, I will set up a meeting place, thinking of the Racetrack station on MLK and 579 in Seffner. Should get together around 8 am.

It is on the corner of 579 and Martin Luther King Blvd, across the street from Walmart.

Their events are always a lot of fun. I've been there about six times and never make it through the whole thing in a single day. Quite often go back up the next day and try to see everything I missed the first day. Sold my 1955 Farmall Cub Lowboy up there last year.

I agree that Thursday or Friday are the best days to go. Saturday has a lot of families with the kids.
Scares me when the children are running around while four wheelers are moving up and down the isles.

I may see you guys on Friday if all goes well at work.

I can't make it Friday, only 1 vacation day left and I promised Andrea a Cessna flight for our Anniversary and never made good on it.
Bummer, I thought I had more time.
I think we will still try to make it out Saturday, looks like a great day outdoors.
Sorry you cannot make it on Friday, usually Sat people are packing up to leave, so it gets kind of sparse for the stuff on display.

Unfortunately, we can't make it either on Friday. Only have enuf vacation days left for Thanksgiving holiday trip with family. But the Flywheelers are a great group of people. Todd used to be a member and pull with his old John Deere A and G tractors (Go Green!) in the Farm Stock division. He still tries to get out there at least once a season to talk with his old tractor cronies. Definitely worth the trip. Nice area to ride.

Will miss you guys, but I understand.  That is the only good thing about retirement, no schedules to worry about.

That would be right down my alley Bill. Didn't even know they had such an event. Planes, Trains, Cranes and Tractors are a few of my favorite things (that song is going through head right now..admit it!  Wink) . But, alas, Home Depot just doesn't understand my need for ride time when the weather gets cooler. Thanks for the heads up my friend. Have a great and safe time! Jeff

They do a couple events each year, possibly make the next one.

You are right Bill. I think they have three events through the fall and winter months.

cooldude I'll be at the meet-up location Friday morning. Might have to ride my Aero as I pulled off my carbs last night to replace fuel rail "O" rings and am going to desmog. Won't have desmog kit until Monday, have "O" rings in stock. Hope to get all back together and carbs synchronized by Friday morn. Going to throw my aux fuel tank on and just plug the main tank line for easy access to carbs without the main tank on. Should go pretty quickly......also due to change oil. Rear end service is also due; it can wait for another week or so.

Looks like we will have 7 at the meeting place, several I know do not post regularly on the board.
Will try to get out of Racetrack as soon as every one gets there. This blasted day light savings times means it will be dark at 6:30 pm.

I'll be there Bill.   cooldude  Probably be there early just to avoid traffic going
through Tampa. Looks like there is a Waffle House just west of the Racetrack. I should
be there 7-ish and have breakfast there. See ya then.   Cheesy

cooldude cooldude A big thanks to Grumpy for leading us on our ride. Excellent weather, friends, and machines makes for an outstanding day. The flywheeler's event has changed in a a few respects as regulations have eliminated the use of steam at the gathering. (this after talking to a couple of the older steam folks and thus the Case tractor not powering the saw mill). None the less, hit and miss motors, tractors, old cars, and the like filled the day. I didn't take but a couple of pics so I hope others can share a few that they took. Had a great time and enjoyed the day!

I REALLY had a good time. That place really takes you back in time. I wasn't quite myself as I was in much pain. I could barely walk at all today, my riding will come to a halt until I can get to the bottom of this. Thanks for calling this Bill and thanks for hauling me around James. I've spent 5 hours editing and should have some great pics up soon.
