Thanksgiving has come and past and now it's time to think Christmas.  The DFW VRCC is entered in the Terrell Christmas Parade on Saturday, the 13th.  The theme this year is a Nursery Rhyme Christmas (so decorate your bike accordingly).  The parade starts at 10a and we have to be staged at 9.  So we need to be at this clinic no later than 8:30 to decorate and ride to the staging area.  We can talk at the meeting about a group riding from the Metromess to Terrell and I'll post that info later.  After the parade it's off to Rod's in Canton for some delicious BBQ and some great twisties on the ride.  Put this date on your calendar.  Last year we had 18 bikes participate.  Let's top that this year. Looks like the group that rides from the Metromess needs to leave Al Lambs about 7:45a on Sat.  That'll give plenty of time to get here to decorate the bikes before staging.  Sooooo, we need some brave soul to volunteer to lead the group from Als to Terrell.  Now, don't everybody volunteer all at once!  We will reserve the privilege to the one posting first!!!  L

We got the confirmation from the parade officials that we are an entrant in the parade.  Don't think there is anything in the rules that will have a major effect on us other than we cannot be dressed as Santa Clause (hats OK) and we cannot throw candy from the bikes.  Little ones have a tendency to run out into the road to get it and don't watch for other vehicles.  The route has been extended this year so the ride will be a little longer (that's OK with me).  If you don't want to ride with the group from Al Lambs just go east on Hwy. 80 coming into Terrell, find the street directly across from the Sonic and turn north (that's Pacific St.).  We will be in the parking lot at the corner of Nash and Pacific (less than one block off 80).  I'll have donuts and soft drinks/water and a potty.  We can decorate the bikes on this parking lot and then move to the staging area.  We have to stage by 9 am.  The parade starts at 10.  Lunch and twisties to follow.  My cell phone is still kaput and can't seem to get the replacement shipped.  If you need a number the clinic is 972-563-1475. I'll be there about 8. L

We have had a request to change the lunch location for Saturday to Brady's burgers.  Couple of reasons.  One it is on the way back to the Metromess and two, they serve a full pound burger that is guaranteed to satisfy the biggest appetite.  Sounds OK to me!!  Finally got the replacement cell phone.  If you need a number for Sat. my cell is 469-595-3222.  C ya here no later than 8:30a on Saturday morning.
