I am in for wrench time if the time is available, I have a new pinion cup / shaft and a new rear tire.
Assuming that all gets complete, testing the new tire with a ride would be grand.
Happy to chip in for food as well.

I am planning to visit some family in CS early Saturday and head your direction later in the day if appropriate.  I would like to do a Sunday ride down through Bishop's Castle area.  I need to make my way to Trinidad for Sunday night(more family).  I am not as equipped for leading as others, (route planning is a weakness too), but I can lead the southbound portion of the ride.
I already have a room in CS for Saturday night at the Howard Johnson's down the road.
Looking forward to seeing you guys again.

We'll be glad to hang out, eat your food, drink your beverages, help wrench and generally participate - though I don't know how useful our spare bedroom will be as the ranch is pretty far away.

I live in Pueblo and know the Bishops Castle route well. We could use my house as a meeting point, and I would be happy to lead the ride. I also lead a Highway Of Legends ride in July which can either start or end in Trinidad.

Well I know my day needs to end in Trinidad......Bishops Castle / Highway of Legends sounds great to me.  Might be too long for some of the "Elders"  coolsmiley
If there is a group coming down from CS,  maybe we meet in Penrose ??? if that is part of your route?
Wish I could be there for some experienced wrench stuff, really need to go thru the front end ( air cleaner, carbs, desmog, adjust valves )  I'm a bit nervous tearing into all that solo.
New Austone and new shocks are riding great.
More to follow....

***SOLD***

Gentlemen,

Since installing a belly tank and MarkT's lift adapter, I no longer need my original lift adapter. I can bring it up to the wrench party if anyone is interested in buying it. Only asking $35.

My Dad (who is a retired machinist & skilled welder) made it. It is metal and will fit a Valk without a belly tank. It served my dad and I well for several years, and has nothing wrong with it.

Respond here, PM, or email me at joshcornkid@gmail.com if you are interested.

Misfit,
What time does the party get started?
If possible I would like to get: pinion cup / shaft replacement, both tires but I do not know how much time that will take or what other work is planned for other bikes. Happy to help get stuff done for others as well.

I'll have the parts and some extras.
Cheers

You can come anytime. The ride that Dick is leading I believe leaves from my house at around 8:30. If all goes as planned the riders should return around 2:30. I am planning on the chow to be ready at 3:00. We can hang out after that and ride Sunday. There may be two separate groups on Sunday as some are heading south for Bishop Castle and the northern riders may want to head through the mountains in a more northerly route. I plan to have doughnuts here Saturday morning for those that show up early. I doubt that I will have much time for bands on wrenching but can advise and folks are welcome to the garage and tools. Others have offered to help wrench also. I think Dick will post more details on the ride soon. I am expecting between 25-35 to attend.  cooldude

I will be happy to help wrench. I am proficient with a few things on the Valk. If I'm not able to help wrench I would be happy to lead the Bishops Castle ride if someone else hasn't already stepped up to that plate. I am planning on being at Misfits place early to help.

Wow, next Saturday already! I'm looking forward to it.

I have one request for those looking to get their bikes wrenched on. Please do some homework before hand and look into getting all parts, oil, gaskets, etc that are required to do your project and bring everything with you.

-If you need a copy of the Valkyrie Service Manual email me at JoshCornKid@gmail.com, and I will forward it to you.

-You can also visit ShopTalk (http://www.valkyrieriders.com/shoptalk/).

-And of course use the "Search" tool in the 1500 Tech Board.

I haven't done tires with tire irons, but worked in a service shop and have mounted and balanced many a tire. I will read up on and be ready.

I asked Performance Cycle in Denver if they would mount the CT, they declined.
Can someone suggest a local place for balancing weights or dynabeads?
I have the o rings and synthetic oil for the pumpkin but not the bearing grease for the drive shaft / pinion cup. Suggestions?

Looks like I will bring another rider along to help/learn and enjoy the company.

Thanks

In addition to some chirp chasin', Silver Bullet is also due for a splinein'.  I'll come bearing o-rings, but don't like traveling with oil and grease.  If someone can spare 150ml and a glob or two I'll gladly pay for the convenience!

Looking forward to seeing the familiar grizzled Colorado faces and meeting some new folks!

Not familiar with the metro Brewer, but if you can track down either one 16 oz. bottle of automotive Ride-On or two 8 oz. bottles of motorcycle Ride-On you're golden.  The stuff balances great and gives some additional peace of mind from contact patch punctures.  You'll need 16 oz. for a car tar.
