Hi, new here, Don't even have the bike home yet. Anyway, My 98 has pipes on it that extend maybe 4 or 5 inches (just guessing by looking at some pics) beyond the beetle bags n' rear fender. The open ends are round and straight cut, no angle. What I would like to know is,,, are they most likely, after market mufflers, or has the outside chrome skin only,,,, been replaced.
I'd post a pic, but don't see how to do that on this board.
Thanks, in advance,,,,, Jim

Ask the previous owner (P O) what mods were done how long ago was serviced how old are the tires and visit the tech board. And B T W-welcome to our little corner of the insanity. You have a LOT of knowledge here on these Valkyries we seem to be addicted to. Again-welcome from the Ozarks and RIDE SAFE.

It's not a truck stack mod if it has six pipes. Oops misread six into two. If it is quiet probably just truck stack mod as said.

When you post a reply, up above the comment box are two lines of white squares. The first box on the left is the "insert photo" box. If you click on it you'll see two sets of brackets. In the left bracket it will say IMG in the right /IMG. The cursor will be blinking in between them. It's waiting for you to post the URL of an image. In order to get the url of an image go to either Imgur or Photobucket, load the image you want, then read their instructions on how to copy images--in photobucket you click on the picture, when it comes up big, click on the button to the right that says, "direct." It will go yellow and say "copied." Then come back to the forum, make sure your cursor is still between the 'img' brackets and hit ctrl-v. Viola! Pick in the message. Simple, no? And welcome.

Nice Bike Truck Stacks added to the OEM pipes. You'll have to look down them to see if the "Piggies" are still there, but most likely they've been cut down or out. Do a search for "exhuast" or "pipes" or "piggies" here and you'll get three thousand responses that you can scroll through to get an idea of what stock is. Again, nice ride.

I'm not seeing a seam down there, so they are probably full length stacks (from the collector).

What Jess said. I'm not seeing a seam either, they look like stacks to me. Stacks are a 4" chrome exhaust can that is slipped over the stock exhaust. They are also used as the outter chrome can covering an exhaust that has had a glass pack modification done to them. These are stacks and where alot of folks get theirs...... http://www.airflo.com/valkyrie.htmlhttp://store.airflo.com/chrome-exhaust.htmlHere's a couple links that have some drawings that show what the inside of a stock/OEM exhaust looks like. http://luiscajiga.com/Exhaustm.htmhttp://luiscajiga.com/Exhaustm.htmThe short version is, if you look down into the end of your exhaust and see something else, there are two possibilies.....either they've been gutted, or they've had a glass pack mod done to them. They could also be from another aftermarket Valkyrie exhaust manufacture. Here's a list. Some are still doing business, some not. http://www.valkyrienorway.com/Exhaust.htmlShop Talk is a link at the top of the page here. There's tons of info in there about virtually everything, including truck stack installation and glass pack mods. http://www.valkyrieriders.com/shoptalk/ http://www.valkyrieriders.com/shoptalk/noteasy.htmhttp://www.valkyrieriders.com/shoptalk/truckstackinstall.htmIf you want to finish off those stack with some nice tips, you can't go wrong with some Grumpys tips. http://www.grumpyscustomparts.com/product-pictures--store-link.html

They look like truck stacks. Look from the rear for a plate with 3 holes or short pipes. If you see them someone probably just added the truck stacks to the oem pipes. If you only see one hole or pipe in the center they could be glass packs. Sent you a PM about the Florida board.

If you have muffler clamps visible underneath, or a crossover flex tube, you have a MarkT exhaust. Be glad, they sound great, make more power, and are worth hundreds more than stock pipes.

Jeff K had contacted someone and if he could get orders for XXX number of pipes, they would reproduce another batch.

Mase.....
I remember someone posting about a set of pipes like that once before. Don't know if your thinking about the same set of pipes, but he said that they were Cobras with some tips on them that he had made to fit.

Talk to Mark, ask him if he would weld them up if you brought the material. All he can say is NO, if he does, then it isn't too good of an idea. You will probably have to grind them down and have them chromed, if he does the welding for you.
In 98 or 99 I put 6X6 on MGM, rode it for a few months and went out to the Truckstop that had a basement full of Truck Chrome.
I forgot the length of pipe I bought, but we slid them over the 6X6, with some notches, the pipe was about 4" longer, and it had a hell of a bark to it.

I'd like to cut off the "turn-outs", and add longer pipes. But right now, my cash flow isn't that great. It's flowin out faster than it's flowin in. Lately, I've had the urge to put the TBR's back on.... and this thread has pushed me over the edge. As soon as my exhaust gaskets come in, I'll be switching over.

Nice valk I second getting a set of grumpy's tips or trim rings to really dress up the ends of your truck stacks. I really like the trim rings I bought for mine last year. Your stacks will go from this: To this: A nice close up: Dragon Slayer 129

If you look real close at the tight shot of the trim rings you can see one of the allen head set screws (3 total) that hold the trim ring in there. Look in about the 4 o' clock position and you'll notice it. I've had them installed for almost 2 years now and no problems of them ever coming loose.
