Hi all,

I have the opportunity to purchase some hondaline engine hangers from a forum member. I have a 98 tourer with the v- stack mod (Big BF spacer) and two radiator hoses cut and fit over the frame where the original rubber supports are for the tank (per - v-stack mod in shoptalk) to keep it from moving. The stacks are the aeromach ones.

While I was researching I saw where a forum member posted that he heard they may not fit with the v- stack mod. I found a post from a forum member with the carolina bike and trike reproduction hangers and the v-stack mod that said they fit fine.

Looking for confirmation of fit prior to purchase anyone with the v-stack mod and engine hangers please chime in regarding the fit.

I have a pair of OEM and a pair of Carolina both fit with no problem the spacer is only needed so the stack on the right side in the middle cylinder clears the tank

I see a v-stack mod for gluing some hard rubber to the underside of your tank, but I'm not seeing anything about using radiator hoses fitted over the frame.

Am I just missing it, or is there another link to this?  Perhaps you have pics of your radiator hose mod that you could share?

I've got a set of stacks that I haven't installed yet and I'd love to see your radiator hose mod.

I've got the BigBF tank spacer kit, just haven't installed it and them yet.  I'm still interested in this radiator hose mod on the frame.

My tourer has an I/S tank along with a BigBF front spacer since 2003. No rubber hose spacers were used on the frame ... and it does not rock from side to side.

I cant take credit for the mod. My friend and forum member GreggH suggested it as he had done the same on his 98 standard. I took a car radiator hose that I got at the local pick and pull and slit it down the middle then cut about a (3-4 inch length) and zip tied it to the frame where the rubber mounts are that it would sit on prior to the big bf half inch spacer installed. I believe I used two pieces on each side to get it high enough to make up the 1/2 inch difference in height. I had to put the tank on and take it off a few times before I got it right. It fits nice and snug and does not move (side to side,or up and down without pulling on it) even  before you bolt it down. i felt more secure doing it that way as I tried the rubber glued to the tank and it still had a very slight rock to it when bolted down (if i pulled on it)I was afraid that with 5 gallons of gas throwing it hard into some turns may move it just enough to chip the tank. Im a big fan of better safe than sorry.
I have rode about 10,000 miles with it that way. GreggH probably has 40,000 on his mod he may chime in here.

BF when do you need the pics ? i was not planning to take the tank off anytime soon. But could if you want pics. otherwise I could post some when I clean the k&n filter this spring.

I must admit that this sounds like a good idea.
I'll check mine this winter ... and might do this mod.  Smiley

I'm in no hurry.  It'll probably be next spring before I get around to installing the stacks anyway.   Wink

I'd love to see a couple pics, but don't take your tank off just for me.  Whenever you take the tank off to clean your air filter the next time, try to remember to take a few pics and post 'em in a thread.
