2014 Valkyrie 1800

Seminole, Florida

« on: November 10, 2013, 04:19:14 AM »

This is my fourth and last attempt. 2nd attempt photobucket dumped everything I was working on and had to start over. 3rd attempt almost done, while toggling back & forth between the VRCC using windows 8 and photobucket, I closed windows 8 accidentally and lost everything before I could click on "post" Here we go...http://i722.photobucket.com/albums/ww230/dmj072/Florida%20Flywheelers%20Nov-2013/DSC00799_zps0772651d.jpg[/img]
This dog was incredible, we made eye contact and she came right to me and sat down. Then leaned up against me and kept looking up at me. She obeyed every command I gave her and I've never seen her before. I tried to buy her from the girl (no way) I don't know how I would get her home? She said the dog was a mutt? Looks like a little Australian Shepherd and a little something something?

That just proves my old saying "forth time's the charm". Everything works better the forth time around. Great pics of the event, thank you for taking the extra time to post them. Sure wish I could have been there. I wonder if Bill's going to want to go to the shows in Jan. and Feb.

Thanks for persevering Doug.  Really great pictures.  I went to a very small show near me a month or so ago, interesting engines and tractors.  I sent the link to the pictures to a friend in Waycross who has several Cushman scooters.

 Brings back,,,, memories     Cool

My first ''ride'',, in 1956 was on a red Cushman just like the one in the pic, with the solo seat n' luggage rack.

My dad threw a chair cushion on the rack, n' put my six year old ass on it n' away,,, we went....  Grin

Been hooked ever since....   cooldude

Great photos Doug, thanks for taking the time to post and record the event. I didn't realize you took so many fantastic pics! Really good editing too as you can't see the layer of dust on everyones rides!
We know riding season is upon us in Florida now as we didn't get into any rain all day!

Great pics Doug, wish I could have made the ride but having a hip problem right now. By the way, put your glasses on....that's a cutout of a man so stop trying to talk to him.  Grin  I see Murphy is checking out the truck I want, and I don't recognize the older gent with white hair, stained teeth, black outfit on. Is he a new member? After looking at those old tractors, I realize how the years have passed. I've driven many of those oldies. Even got to drive(actually drive isn't the right word) an old steamer once when just a kid. I was working on my uncle's farm in Iowa and was busting my butt on a threshing crew. The threshing machine was run by the old steam driven tractor, huge sucker, and I got to manhandle it into place so they could hook up the drive belt. It had power steering....took all the power you could muster just to steer it. Steering linkage was accomplished with chains...wonder how they did a front end alignment?  Cheesy

Glad you succeeded Doug. I just love the old stuff like that. I got to see a big old steam tractor running one time at a show in Knoxville. Your first reaction is to run for your life. Loud, hissing, spitting son of a gun. You take such good pic's, and lots of them. We even got to see them twice!!

I definitely would like to go on the next one. Y'all said they do it several times a year. Like I said before, there's nothing like planes trains, tractors and cranes! cooldude
