27° degree's when I pulled the bike out of the garage this morning; what, are we in Norway now??? I thought my poor toes were going to freeze before I arrived at work.
I miss those 95 degree days already.

I second that. I don't know what the temp was when I pulled out this morning, or even when I pulled in last night at midnight:30. It was definitely in the Freakin brrrr range, though. Most folks know I don't complain about heat in the summer. I save it all up for when it gets really cold (defined as <70 degrees), in October. Of course, now it's REALLY cold, so I'm complaining a LOT.

Gee, I wanted to get away from the heat, so we flew to Ohio! High today is 27, and Wizard thinks I should wear a coat .... (I will, I will, IF I'm going to be out for any length of time, but 1-2 minutes, nah.)
We're here to see what all the Hoopla on the VRCC main board is about - the Holiday Hoopla, that is.

Well... Thinking about how to keep my feet warm and doing some googling on it I found this article; http://www.rattlebars.com/mtz/footfair.htmlI headed out Saturday morning to hit the junk yards in McKinney. At the first one I stopped at I found a bug guard on an F250 for $5.00 so I bought it and figured I could use it as a learner if nothing else. The right side was a piece of cake, the left side took some work. I scraped one within two blocks doing a u-turn so I may have to scrap them and go looking for some of the S-10 ones. I'll let you know in a day or two if they work very well. Chuck

10.4 F this morning. When its -20 and wind, than its cold.
I was in Houston(I think it was January 2001) I hired a car and had a weekend in Austin. On my way back to Houston it was snowing. I was told it was the worst "snowstorm" in 18 years. (heh heh, "snowstorm") No further comments

Finally able to add an update on the foot fairings. It was 26° when I rolled out of the garage this morning and I am happy to say the fairings did a pretty good job of keeping my toesies warm. My left foot which I can tuck under the shifter close to the engine stayed comfortable all the way to work. My right foot which I cannot get under the brake and the bike doesn't seem to accelerate or maintain speed very well if I rest my foot on it was warm on the inside edge and cold on the outside edge. If I have to choose between a fully-cold foot and a half-cold foot, I'll go with the half-cold one. As a RAW* rider I have to give the foot fairings two thumbs up. I will probably hit an auto parts store and buy a new S-10 bug guard and attempt a cleaner, more experienced installation of the fairings. From the rattlebars article "What if your feet get too warm?" - I don't think this is really an issue because I had no desire to throw my feet up on the highway pegs this morning because they were too warm. If any of you folks are considering this mod pay attention to the height of the outer edge of the guard because I am scrapping my fairings every ride and I am not a rider who uses the foot pegs as a marker of how tight I am turning.

PS. Ok, maybe comparing our weather with Norway might have been a stretch, but I digress...

Laugh at us all you want now. I still have memories of a certain Norwegian roasting on a cool April day. I moved back to Texas precisely to avoid scenes like the one shown below:
