Hello our fellow DFW VRCC members,
First and foremost, Dave and I would like to thank each of you for allowing us to serve the DFW VRCC chapter. Even though Honda discontinued production of our beloved Valkyries years ago, our club seems vibrant and alive, and we are excited at all of the possibilities that lie ahead. This is your club and we are open to all suggestions on the direction that you want your club to take.
Because of your suggestions we have added several activities. Please remember our group is large and covers a large geographical area. While participation will always be appreciated, everyone is not expected to make every event; however, gold stars will be handed out to those who do.
We plan on offering several opportunities each month to share in the brotherhood/sisterhood of the VRCC. To make this work, we need volunteers across the metroplex to host events so that all of our members will have opportunities to participate close to home. If you feel that your area of town is being neglected, step up and volunteer to host an event.
We will continue having our regular meeting on the second Thursday of the month at 7:00PM, and we will continue using a different location each month. In addition, we will be adding a monthly wrench/polish party and a monthly breakfast ride. The wrench/polish party will rotate between the first Saturday and first Sunday of each month. The breakfast ride will rotate between the third Saturday and third Sunday of each month. Here is the schedule for the next two months: August: Saturday August 1 wrench/party (location TBA) Thursday August 13 monthly meeting (location TBA) Saturday August 15 breakfast ride (destination TBA) September: Sunday September 6 wrench/Party (location TBA) Thursday September 11 monthly meeting (destination TBA) Sunday September 19 breakfast ride (location TBA)
I will be leading the first couple of breakfast rides, but we need volunteers to host the wrench/polish parties and volunteers to coordinate the monthly meetings. By the way, important club information that is presented at the monthly meeting will also be presented at the breakfast ride.
Other suggestions that we still working on include overnight rides, destination rides, and rides with other motorcycle groups. If there is an event that you would like to see the group participate in just, let us know. Again this is your group.
Please note that on the VRCC board Daniel has posted a link to Texas VRCC regional Calendar and to the Texas VRCC Website. Through sticky technology that only Daniel understands, this post will always appear at the top of the board. Check it out.
Thank you to everyone for allowing us the opportunity to serve a great group of people. The VRCC is the best!
Jim and Dave
