it's a grey knob between the top of intakes 1 and 3 ...feel in there and you'll find it.  It gets hot in there if the engine is warmed up.

On my '03, the knob is black, I think.  It's in the 20F in the barn and too cold to look.

#1 and #3 cylinders are in the right front[ brake pedal side]. CW increase speed, CCW decrease speed. Should be about 500rpm cold and 900 rpm warm.

Hey Pacer, did you go to the cook out yesterday? There were at least 20 people that could have shown you where it is.  cooldude

The location instructions listed above are good, but just remember those intakes get hot. I use a screwdriver to move it when hot.

No, I didn't John..  I have Friday as a tentative pick up date for my bike, from,, Birmingham.

The bike in my garage,,,, is one that a friend bought off a board member in Ocala yesterday.

He drove his car up from Largo so had no way to get it home, n' left it in my garage,, till Monday.

He got,,,, a purple n' white 97 with 10K on it...  cooldude

Idle was a bit low, n' figured I'd screw around n' get a bit more familiar with a valk is all. Roll Eyes

Thanks all,,, for the help...  Found,,, n' adjusted...

Purple and white Valks are nice!

Go to Dag's site and download the Valk Service Manual, that way you'll have two references to look at.

A flashlight and long needle-nose are helpful.

I tried wearing my gloves but then my fingers wouldn't fit in there.
