There are similarities, yet there is a world of difference.

Neither one!!

Add an F6B to the mix, then take a good look at the three of them.  At first, I didn't like the F6B, but "IF" I were in-the-market for a new bike it would be the F6B over either the Rune or New "Goldwing" Valkyrie.  It's all in what is your personal likes and dislikes are!  For me a windshield and saddle bags are an absolutley necessity.  Yea, I know that the Honda ad said that both are or will soon be available, but for now, ya' don't know what they will look like as a whole package.  JMHO!

I'm curious, where is the radiator on the Rune. It doesn't appear to have those ugly protrudences on either side like the Wing or Valkyrie.

Personally I'm a little disappointed. When they designed the Valkyrie they upgraded the carb setup and  the heads. On the new valk I have compared it with the wing and don't see any performance upgrades. From what I've seen its just the wing drive train with diferent Tupperware. Not that I don't like the bike but if they were going to put the Valkyrie name on it they should have given it the heart of a Valkyrie.    Otus

Like Earl said, I'd prefer the F6B.  Like you said, the new Valkyrie is just a quick and easy way to get a big flat 6 cruiser out there with a familiar name.  If I were in the market, I'd check out the F6B and Valkyrie, but there sure would be some others on the list.

This has been previously noted.  Some have suggested that Honda wants to use up a boatload of 1800 Goldwing engines before they roll out a new Wing in years to come. That's what they did with our 1500 Valks too (commencing in '97 before the new 1800 wing rollout in '01). . . The 1500 Wing was sold for 12 years ('88-00), the 1800 Wing has been sold for 12 years ('01- present), so far.

Why is this on the Tech board?  This is the type of posting that many WISH would be on the General board instead of all the political left vs. right B.S.

Yep, it doesn't matter except to the moderator(s) who pass on what is allowed and what is not.

These individuals remove posts that fall into the category of which there is disagreement regarding the efficacy of comment and/or just don't like the comment period.

I believe there is a lot of personality that comes into play regarding this practice.

You can refresh your reading of the "rules of the road" to regain the correct perspective.

I used the quote feature of the forum to hopefully maintain a record of your post, if it becomes deleted.

However, this post may also be deleted.

A request earlier to send it to the general board has evidently been denied.

Remember, we are only guests on this forum, and are only allowed to remain so at the pleasure of those who control the postings and are commonly known as the moderators.

I don't now, nor never have considered them to be "even handed".

Anything here compatible with the new valk?

The Rune’s engine comes with six 32mm throttle bodies with 12-hole injectors, replacing the previously-used twin-body system and upgrading the fuel flow of the whole system for a freer flowing system. There are also new camshafts incorporated into the entire set-up while a revised 3-D fuel injection and ignition timing mapping, along with a new close-ratio gearbox, all help make the Rune a true road warrior in every sense of the word.
