New Haven IN

« on: July 19, 2009, 12:56:32 PM »

They stopped in New Haven on there way to Inzane yesterday. Fudgie came up from Huntington for a cookout. (Kit was not feeling well. Hope you feel better Kit). We had burgers, dogs, potato salad and banana cream pie for desert. A great time was had by all. When Fudgie left at around 9 PM I took them on a tour of Ft Wayne in my 70 Bonneville. Had breakfast with them this morning and then we rode to Indy, picking up Fudgie on the way in Markle. Got them around Indy and parted ways just west of Indy on 70 so they can continue there journey to Inzane. They are meeting up with Joe in St Louis and then onto CO.
Me and Brian headed for home. just south of Muncie we saw a Harley on the side of the road broke down. We were going to fast to stop so Brian made the turn around jester. we did a U-turn and went back to see if we could help. The bike would not crank. So we tried jumping it with my bike and  Brian's cables. No go. It would crank but not start. We decided we needed to get them off of the highway. The guy had a ratched strap. So Brian pulled him the mile and a half to the next interchange and to a gas station. Brian has a trailer hitch so it was no problem. While we were on the side of the road more than a couple of dozen Harleys went by and not one stopped. But two lowly Honda's did. Even turned around to do so.  They guy and his wife were grateful. Even offered to pay. Brian said No. I agreed. Just two Bikers helping another. The guys brother was coming down from MI to get them.....

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.
