It goes like this, Honey  Please take me to Walmart. So I do, she comes out with lights for all the outside of the house. I say I cannot reach the  peak of the roof. Shoulda kept my mouth shut, so off to Home Depot to buy a 24 foot multi function ladder. Now gonna spend the next week hanging blasted lights all over the house. I guess they are Christmas, New Years , 4th of July lights etc. Cause I aint taking them down. Next time she says Walmart, I am going to shoot my self in the foot, or some thing.
Women, cant understand them, cant shoot them. Rats  tickedoff

Grin Well Bill, you made me laugh out loud tonight!! I certainly feel for you though. We used to go full bore on the exterior every year. Then it got to be too much work for me (notice I said ME). Bonnie was a great supervisor! So, she made some real nice, big, fat garlands which we swag along the front of the house and fences. Then a 4.5' wreath from Costco (which is truly beautiful by the way) on the garage front...and that's it!! Takes me 2 hours to hang and power up. So, I'm feeling a little bad for you Bill. It will make her happy though and will be pretty I'm sure and you got a nice ladder in the deal! As far as taking them down, my neighbor tried that and every year less and less lit up until he finally had to take them down. You know you can't ride with a hole in your foot either.  The thing about women is you can't live with them and you can't live with them (NOT a typo)  Roll Eyes

Bill,
If you want to return that ladder and save some cash? I've got ladders you can use.
Call my cell and let me know. I've got an extension ladder and several sizes of step ladders. I should be in Tampa tomorrow and can swing by and drop them off if need be?

Thanks for the offer, but I have needed one for a while. Just was not prepared for the stuff she dreamed up. After almost 50 years of marriage I should know what she was planning. But she is always coming up with some thing new.

Bill, don't shoot yourself in the foot, just start limping and tell her your hip went out. Be sure to remember to favor the same side all the time, and double hump it when you have to get out of a chair. I didn't have trouble with that last one, been doing that for the last ten years.  Wink  All our decorations are in the attic space over the garage, and with my current bum hip I can't climb the drop down ladder....that's my story and I'm sticking with it. Actually quite true this time. So, looks like the Schmidt house will be rather barren this year which is kind of a bummer. We quit putting stuff up outside quite a few years back....thank goodness.

While reading Bill's thread and watching the later news edition, this seemed ironic. Had to chuckle  Wink

Be mindful while your up there!
