compressor hose...

I hate the 50 ft compressor hose I got from the big box store.

It doesn't quite reach far enough, and, when it is cold especially, it has "memory",
it is stiffly stuck in the coiled up position I put it away in.

I want a "floppy" hose with a high enough rating to run a normal air gun and stuff...

Would this be a good one? Is EPDM the material to look for?

I wouldn't intentionally steer you wrong. I like these hoses and they work well in weather colder than I want to be in. It is expensive, but, I think it can be bought cheaper locally than those links show unless the cost has gone up that much over the years. The only down side that I see is that it is hard to keep clean.

Flexzilla looks good but it looks to have plastic fittings. Go with the red hose with brass fittings.

Senco makes a great hose.  Skinny and flexible.  Go with what the pros use.  Im a carpenter and that is the only brand I would recommend.

Seems like it is probably good, but you have to affix the fittings yourself... when I fastened barbed fittings
to my poly water pipe, I used stainless hose clamps... the same kind of thing here, or... ?

I agree that the fittings look like plastic, but if you read on further you will find they say their fittings are "aircraft grade aluminum", that is anodized to look that "plastic" color.

I use a cheap Harbor Freight hose, but only use it seldom, so wrestling with it doesn't bother me too much.

At the shop we have 4 of those red hoses with the aluminum fittings on celiling reels.

Each hose is run off of the same manifold in the ceiling where the compressor is mounted.   The manifold is a one hose in and up to 8 hoses out.

They work like a champ and ya don't have to worry about stumbling all over the those on the floor.

We have had this setup for over 25 years no problems.   If memory serves me correctly, we did have to replace 1 of the ceiling mounted reels.

Maybe if I got the 75 it would be long enough to reach all the places I want,
they don't seem to have a 100 ft reel... plus we're starting to get into
some real $... I dream about having a reel that works, but I'll settle for

Some of the reviewers love the flexzlla hoses, others hate them... Tractor supply
has them, perhaps I should go look at one...

At the business we used retractible's, but, at home I have manual 100' reels. There are times I need to get a long way away and need to snap on an extra hose.
Whatever you decide on, my recommendation is to get 3/8 hose and not 1/4.

The flexzilla hose is great, and  the ends are not plastic they are metal. The flexibility is really good and they also flow more air because the inside of the line is actually bigger than a good 3/8ths line. When there is no air pressure in its a bit hard to coil because its not stiff it takes the air to give it any stiffness. Good abrasion resistance doesnt cut easily and another side benefit is they are lighter and easier to maneuver. The have smaller ones you can use as whip hoses for air ratchets and air tools that's really good coupled with a flexible end. It almost feels like there's nothing attached. I was skeptical at first but it really does outperform conventional hoses.
