I am putting a Woody's Fairing on my 97 standard was wondering if anyone has a good suggested source to get power other than straight from the battery. I would like it to only be hot when ignition is on. Maybe something in the wiring harness in headlight Bucket? Thanks in advance. I got a little time the fairing is off to paint

There are a number of aftermarket aux fuse panels available. Some with a relay that is actuated by the 5amp accessory leads Chris spoke of. That relay in turn powers the fuse strip. I made my own with a unit from a maritime shop, mounted a 40 amp relay on one end and powered it as mentioned. I then connected a fused line to the hot side of the battery that ran through the relay. Now, when I shut off the key, everything I have connected to the aux panel is powered down.

Bighead I use a Centech fuse block to power all of my aftermarket devices and use the 5amp lead Chris was taking about to trigger a relay that's before the fuse block. The 5amp auxillary wire is under the right side cover. It's a green wire with a red stripe. The other wire paired with it is a ground http://www.centechwire.com/Motorcycles_c15.htm

Your local marine shop will have them. Water proof cases also.

More info please You want this (trust me)...... http://www.easternbeaver.com/Main/Wiring_Kits/Fuseboxes/PC-8/pc-8.htmlIt also utilizes the 5 amp power lead. It's what I used to power everything from my Woodys. Use the search feature to search for PC-8. Lot's of threads about it.

In that little area behind the battery where the manual and tool pouch goes.
