Does anyone know if any of the various Honda Goldwing trailer hitches will also fit the Valkyrie Tourer?  I'd like to buy a used one instead of spending the bucks for a new one.

Ron, to answer your question; No!  I have a hitch I'll never use, if you're interested I'll take a couple pictures of it tomorrow. Real cheap(under $100), but take a look at it first.

If ya don't find what ya want, I got a Chrome VERY SOLID one piece from HitchDoc.

I took it off of MGM when I converted it into a Trike.

If interested, PM me.

Have a great Holiday.

PS:  It is pretty heavy and will pull anything you hang on the back of your bike.

I want to build one of these for camping or just traveling.  I have some ideas for improvement.  This is a mini tear drop camper.

Thanks everyone.  I got one from John Schmidt over in Orlando and am picking it up tomorrow.  He got it used off a Tourer but never used it on his.

Hey Ron, RJ (Russ) is in Iowa, I'm in the Orlando area but you know that by now. However RJ is good people in anybody's book, long time member and purveyor of good info re. the Valkyrie. I do wish I had his trike conversion and he had a feather up his butt....we'd both be tickled.  2funny  Evil  It's something I may do one day....the trike, not the feather.  Wink

By the way, I'll be driving a gold colored SUV.

I plan on buying a Harbor Freight Tag-Along trailer to pull behind.  They're on sale plus I have a 20% discount coupon.  I still plan on building my own tear drop camper but for now I can go camping while protecting my gear in a covered trailer.

Good lookin setup there Ron.

When ya get it, be sure and pull both hubs to make sure they have plenty of wheel bearing grease.

I've heard bad vibes on Harbor Frieght's trailers not having the right amount of grease and the hub burns out in like 15,000 miles or less..

Re. spacers, since the bag mount already has spacers in place, it's possible you won't need any others....including those I had attached to the wiring harness. Give it a trial fit first.

Jeff, it's a compliment, spoken in an endearing way. Words such as these come to mind; knave, rapscallion, rascal, reprobate(TJ)  Grin, rogue, scalawag (or scallywag), scamp, scoundrel, just to name a few. Remember, I'm part of that group but not sure which definition fits, guess it depends on who you ask.  cooldude

He John, this word, 'reprobate(TJ)', I'm assuming TJ in Florida uses this one, if so isn't it retrobate?

Well it only took me five hours to put that "Dang" trailer hitch on.  A little over two hours was working on one lousy bolt trying to get it lined up thru the fender.  (The left front bolt.)  And yes there was cursing envolved!  There were only four bolts that hold it on.  Had to improvise spacers to make things line up properly as well as a trip to Home Depot for two longer bolts.  I NEVER WANT TO HAVE TO PUT ANOTHER HITCH ON AGAIN!   Also made a morning trip to Harbor Freight to buy the Tag-Along trailer.  With tax and 20% discount it was $301.83 if interested.  Gonna put the trailer together tomorrow and probably register it next week after Christmas.

I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours.  Please remember the reason for the season.  God Bless us all!  If anyone is offended tough tiddy!

Hey RJ, you were doing pretty good until you got to the "behave" part.  Grin

A card is on the way, you and your Missus have a beautiful Christmas and safe New Years. Sure would like to cross paths this next year. Just have to see how my sweetie's health is at the time, and if I can get someone to stay with her.

Be well.

Your behave is just like mine.     Ya got to catch me doin it 1st.

Cross paths, sounds good, but probably not going to happen.

All the farther I can get away is to the surrounding states if I'm lucky.

Ron, looks good, I would look into lengthening the tow bar, especially for using with the bike. Many that have bought that unit found it easier to handle with the bike, especially when backing it up....which I don't imagine happens very often. Now, some sparkles added to match the bike.  cooldude

What at is the skinny on the tow bar length. I heard it is twice as long as the trailer is wide.
Anybody know?   ???  As I bought a camping trailer and want to get it right.

If you bought a factory built camper, you do not have to worry about tongue length, they have it where it is supposed to be.

These ones like Harbor Frieght and the likes are all about 2 to 2 1/2' too short.

If you do lengthen one, make a complete new tonque the length you want.   All the tongues I ever built we made them pull on the cross member where the axle is.    Some tongues only go to about a foot behind the front frame rail.   Those real short mounted ones have no stability.

Thanks R J. I beleve it is a home made. The trailer is 3' wide and the tow bar is also 3',
and it is not at the axel. 18 degrees, wow! Had to get close to 80 here today. Had a great ride
bout 200 miles. Billy

It is the same trailer I own. Same tongue length. I pulled it from Los Angeles to upstate NY with my I/S. Shocked
Rode it at 80-95 MPH with no problems. police

See Photos: https://plus.google.com/photos/103917731019176896112/albums/5932317960768824945/5932318015432349058?pid=5932318015432349058&oid=103917731019176896112

As you can see, mine does have an accessory chrome rear "bumper" and a basket in front of the cargo box. I bough it used but like new for $450.
It came with ownership title. cooldude
