DS-0009 ...... # 173

Des Moines, IA

« on: July 21, 2009, 08:38:22 AM »

I'm not against America.

I am so in.....

I have noted that many elected officials, both Democrats and Republicans, called upon America to unite behind Obama.

Well, I want to make it clear to all who will listen that I AM NOT uniting behind Obama!

I will respect the Office which he holds, and I will acknowledge his abilities as an orator and  wordsmith and pray for him, BUT that is it.

I have begun today to see what I can do to make sure that He is a one-term President!

Why am I doing this?

It is because I do not share Obama's vision or Value system for America ;

I do not share his radical Marxist's concept of re-distributing wealth;

I do not share his stated views on raising taxes on those who make $150,000+ (the ceiling has been changed three times since August);

I do not share his view that America is Arrogrant;

I do not share his view that America is not a Christian Nation;

I do not share his view that the military should be reduced by 25%;

I do not share his view of amnesty and giving more to illegals than American Citizens who need help;

I do not share his views on homosexuality and his definition of marriage;

I do not share his views that Radical Islam is our friend and Israel is our enemy who should give up any land;

I do not share his spiritual beliefs (at least the ones he has made public);

I do not share his beliefs on how to re-work the healthcare system in America ;

I do not share his Strategic views of the Middle East, and certainly do not share his plan to sit down with terrorist regimes such as Iran .

Bottom line, my America is vastly different from Obama's, and I have a higher obligation to my Country and my God to do what is Right!

For eight (Cool years, the Liberals in our Society, led by numerous entertainers who would have no platform and no real credibility but for their celebrity status, have attacked President Bush, his family, and his spiritual beliefs!

They have not moved toward the center in their beliefs and their philosophies, and they never came together nor compromised their personal beliefs for the betterment of our Country! They have portrayed my America as a land where everything is tolerated except being intolerant!

They have been a vocal and irreverent minority for years; they have mocked and attacked the very core values so important to the founding and growth of our Country!

They have made every effort to remove the name of God or Jesus Christ from our Society!  They have challenged capital punishment, the right to bear firearms, and the most basic principles of our criminal code; they have attacked one of the most fundamental of all Freedoms, the right of free speech!

Unite behind Obama?  Never!

I am sure many of you who read this think that I am going overboard, but I refuse to retreat one more inch in favor of those whom I believe are the embodiment of Evil!

PRESIDENT BUSH made many mistakes during his Presidency, and I am not sure how history will judge him.

However, I believe that he weighed his decisions in light of the long established Judeo-Christian principles of our Founding Fathers!!!

Majority rules in America , and I will honor the concept; however, I will fight with all of my power to be a voice in opposition to Obama and "his goals for America ."

I am going to be a thorn in the side of those who, if left unchecked, will destroy our Country!!  Any more compromise is more defeat!

I pray that the results of this election will wake up many who have sat on the sidelines and allowed the Socialist-Marxist anti-God crowd to slowly change so much of what has been good in America !

"Error of Opinion may be tolerated where Reason is left free to combat it." (Thomas Jefferson)

God bless you and God bless our Country!!!

Thanks for your time, be safe.

That is basically what I've been trying to point out to my loving wife. I've noted some cracks in her "armor" as of late, but she doesn't say much re. the national situation. I fully believe if we abandon Israel and treat them as a rogue nation(a term I actually heard used in re. to them), I think we're doomed as a nation ourselves. Personally, I feel mr. obama and his cronies in Congress are so far off base I wonder if he'll ever be able to recover....or even begins to understand what he's doing to us as a nation.  I'm hoping there is such a backlash next year in the mid-term elections that the entire bunch are sent home reeling from it. I also feel that some, if not most, of the "projects" instituted by this bunch of goons will be voted out of existence with a new administration. Like you, I will be making my voice heard as needed in the months and years to come. Bush was by no means perfect(neither were any of the other presidents), but I also feel many of his decisions were made with the nation's founding pricipals in mind. I think the attached video shows just how much this arrogant fool is thought of.

I never get into political debates or get involved with these political threads, mainly because I do not feel like I am well-enough informed (I know...part of the problem) to make a substantial arguement and then debate it with those (more informed than me or not) who would disagree with me.  Anyways, this country has many serious problems right now and all I hear from either side is why the other side's position won't work.  As I see it, the dems are tossing out drastic changes that may or may not result in disaster (or a solution), while the repubs do not want to change anything.  The repubs are saying that the dems ideas are going to ruin the country, while the dems are saying that we must make changes because doing nothing is not going to help.  But the bottom line is that for as long as I can remember, the minority party always makes a big fuss as to how the majority party is driving the country into the ground...hasn't happened yet...but I've been hearing it since the 80's when I was old enough to start paying attention.

I guess I don't feel like either side makes a well laid out plan that people can understand (probably by design) plus the fact that I am pretty cynical (also their fault) and wouldn't believe what they told me anyways.  I truly believe that both sides are under the control of the powerful lobbyists that contribute their reelection campaigns...and that is all that they care about...getting reelected.

So let me toss this out there...What would you do about these few topics that have recently been argued here on these boards?

Health Care?   Personally, I agree that something must be done about health care in this country.  The costs are spiralling out of control due to those who are uninsured and due to huge lawsuits that the medical profession must carry expensive insurance to protect themselves against.  But on the other hand, I do not want to end up with all of the problems that I have read about in Canada and in Europe.  I contribute a rather large sum of money out of my paycheck each and every week towards my insurance...and then I have to pay deductibles, etc.  This is a pretty big expense for me and my employer and getting higher every year.  I don't have an answer for this one.

Welfare?  I really believe that welfare's intended purpose is a good idea...to help those get back on their feet when you get knocked down.  When I was a kid, the plant my dad worked in for 15-20 years shut down, the economy was in bad shape like now, and he was out of good-paying work for a long time.  Also, at the same time, my mom had a medical issue that prevented her from working for a period of time, and when she was released to go back to work, her employer let her know that he no longer needed her (he had replaced her).  So there was a period of time where we were on welfare and were getting food from the food-bank.  I still remember the cheese...it was GOOD!!  It helped us until we got back on our feet as the program was intended.  However, I also believe that the system is being abused by those who refuse to work and just sponge off the system forever.  I think that those on welfare should have to work for it...community service, litter pick-up, child care services (for other welfare recipient/workers, whatever needs done.  I don't care if it is digging a hole today, then filling it back up tomorrow...they should have to work for it.  I also think that you should have to pass drug tests to get it.  I know there is a cost involved with this, but I'd bet that you could pay for it with all of the checks you would otherwise be giving to drug abusers.

Illegal Immigrants?  By definition, if they are illegal immigrants, they are breaking the law...send them home and bust those that hire them.  They are a major drain on our system from several directions.  I have no problem with immigrants who are here legally.

Wars in Iraq and Afganistan?  I have no answer for this...

Economy/Bailouts?  ...or this...

Tanking Housing Market/SubPrime Loan Problems  ...or this...

Bankrupt US Auto Industry?  ...or this...although I think they should have just let them go bankrupt since that is what they did anyways.  I also don't like the idea of the government being a major share-holder of GM.  However, I don't know what would have happened if the gov't did nothing.  I don't know all of the legal issues involved with bankruptcy.

Right now I believe the people are so hungry for leaders that would actually SAY what they truly believe in, and then DO what they promised.

First and foremost would be to abide by their oath to uphold the Constitution!

Our polliticians are so greedy and power hungry they just don't seem to be able to do what is right.

All of their programs are designed to: keep people dependent on government,  control every aspect your life, and to steal our money.

For my part I'm starting to watch a lot more closely how my Congressmen vote.  I'm also writing them and telling them to do what we say not what they want to do.   I don't want them to get-along, I want them to fight for what we believe in.  If not, they won't get my vote or any campaign contributions and I'll work to see they are defeated in the next ellection.

Unfortunately, there are no easy solutions.

No matter what one group or another is going to be pi$$ed.

However, I refuse to believe that the solutions are as elusive as our "illustrious" leaders would have us think they are.

Common sense should always prevail and doing the right thing should never be the wrong answer.

It does seem that the democratic party has taken a major swing to the left while the republican party is busy chasing its tail.

The end result will be "us" (all of us) left twisting in the wind.

The answer to all problems isn't to just throw money at them.

It would certainly seem that a certain element within our government doesn't seem to agree.

I too have decided to keep a closer watch on my local representatives.

So can anyone of you, go to www.congress.org and sign up for weekly e-mail alerts that show you how your congressional representatives and senators voted.

The site also allows you to read the bills that they voted on and read any pending legislation as well.

There is no "right" or "left" leaning bias, just information.

It is also time to let your local representatives know that their feet will be held to the fire.

Let them know what you believe they should be doing.

If enough voters speak, they will listen.

Let them know that if they do not perform, they will be replaced.

Unfortunately, a majority of the voters this past November bought into what I believe to be a "False Bill of Goods".

Time will tell, but common sense tells me that the current "blank" check mentality is not the answer.

Add to this the fine Americans who have bought into the theory that none "DARE" to speak ill of the "Messiah" and the problems multiply.

These "enlightened" ones would have us believe that all who speak ill of the "anointed" one are cave people cowering from a storm.

Or worse, anyone who dares to speak against the "savior" is RACIST (which is of course the ultimate evil and only those who are Caucasian are capable of committing it).

Don't buy into this nonsense, I for one am not buying it.

I don't like Obama and I don't agree with his liberal philosophies.

In fact, the ONLY thing about him that I do NOT have a problem with is the COLOR of His Skin.

Therefore, if you disagree with the man's politics then by all means DISAGREE.

That is your right, privilege and responsibility.

The blood of many GREAT Americans was shed to secure and preserve it for you.

I have thought about running for local office but after watching what my father went through when he ran (the dems- his own party- were a bunch of back biting thieves and the republicans too, but at least the republicans would say to your face how they were stealing) I decided against it

Until 23 years ago when I quit cold turkey both cigs and dope and getting drunk I inhaled much good dope and enjoyed it but that there is no longer an issue after Bush, Clinton and Obama so I am ok there.  Never did any time or been arrested, that is probably another minus.  Never served with #348

I would describe myself as born a democrat since my grandparents both were involved in unions when that meant 3 people were sharing 1 job so families could eat. Unions have lost their way so has management.

Maybe now I am a conservative, libertarian, republican protectionist but not an isolationist.  I believe that corporations (incorporated in the USA) have an obligation to this country and would love to see a company that tries to move to Dubai to save billions in tax money have to give it back or lose all of their assets.  To me many corporations are traitors to our country, there is no harm in seeking profit for the shareholders but there is harm in US Govmt policies that encourage the behavior that has cost so many jobs.

I have ideas (not necessarily popular) on how to end welfare, what to do with illegals, how to level the dumping of products and get rid of that giant sucking sound of our money going overseas.   I believe mandatory service to your country (not necessarily the armed services) should be a prerequisite to universal health care and that such service should last as it is in Israel for instance.

But I have no political base and no rich uncle.  The only one I know with money is a fellow with 3 valks in Tennessee and he only spends it on bling and car tires so there you go........... 2funny

Oh and I was born here and have the birth certificate to prove it  McCain let us down big time and why I dont know by not insisting on seeing the certificate during the debates. It is the one thing he failed us in and I pray  that the certificate exists cause the alternative would be mind blowing

RJ, we need a new party. Perot had the right idea but at the wrong time and without the support of the masses That is the bottom line.  It needs a start in all 50 states  I would be happy to help write the platform with someone but would rather not be the one running for the office.  Maybe I could be your chief of staff RJ?

+1 RJ  ( Thank you! )

Bob E - Thanks for stickin' your neck out there and not being afraid to say "I Don't Know!"  Seems a lot of what you have to say resembles much of what people feel.  Unfortunately - I believe many have fallen prey to apathy.

Being told how "difficult" our problems are repeatedly, by politicians trying to surf the wave of popularity, eventually wears me out.  The resulting double-talk and back-talk, and re-talk, and evaluation of intent and, and, and....... PLEASE.

What ever happened to the simple  - "Do what you say, and say what you do!"
I found a politician in Wisconsin ( of all places ) that fit that, and I believe in him.  Too bad I moved to TN!*

* I DO NOT REGRET MY DECISION TO MOVE TO TN, IT WAS A FIGURE OF SPEECH TO ADD DEPTH TO MY PREVIOUS COMMENT  ( ask me later, and if the original comment proves unpopular, I may come up with something better!  2funny

I'm put out with all politicians except Ron Paul. He has some great ideas but goes against the powers that control out government and ultimately you and I. As I always say, follow the money. And there are other choices. There are a lot of alternative news sources, just search a topic and you'll find lots of truth if interested. BTW, SE and Scammer haven't figured that out yet. But for those who want to know, it's out there, be diligent.

They've been an obama supporter from the beginning so when it comes to something like this....I question their veracity.

Just my personal opinion, but it has been shown to be the case at different times in recent months and apparently well documented. As for my affiliation...neither democrat or republican.

1st. RJ let me say well said, and count me in also. We riders and also many of us are Veterans, we truly Love our country, we went to war for it, we lost loved one's and friends. We love our freedom and have never had to worry about not having it. Some Americans do not understand how all this comes about. It is not by words alone, war is hell and even the military doesen't want to go to war, but sometimes unavoidable. We do what we have to do and expect out leaders to guide us. I hope our leaders do come to their senses but I don't see that happening, well the people better wake up also and see whats going on here. We are going down the shitter....I don't suspect he'll be around for a second term!!!

Tony, I think thats not far from the realm of the possible the way our new government is trying to control everything.....if we dont turn things around that is........

Instead of compulsory voting, I think there should be an intelligence test required for voter registration

Nice one ChrisJ- made me smile.
and the comments from the Inspector are understandable as well- we have soldiers in the field shoulder to shoulder with u guys in Afghanistan (lost another young soldier a couple of days ago), although Gov't pulled ours from Iraq recently. We're small in numbers, but the bad guys don't like Aus. troops chasing them.
Really enjoy the posts- even tho they are not all smiley ones of course.

The sky is falling!  The sky is falling!  You 'patriots' act as though one man really makes a huge difference.  This country's government is founded on the principle that no one person or governmental body can usurp total power.

So, you rant... pretend that Obama is about to destroy America as we know it... but the fact is... like every other president, Obama is constrained.... and whether you like what he is doing or not the reality is that America wont deviate much.

To close... you anti Obama ranters seem marginally equipped with the facts.  Much easier to just rant about things that aint so... but what the hell... have at it if it makes you feel better.

We've got a great president... far superior to that dunce that used to be in office, and I want to see him succeed.

These EXACT same words also apply to all the Blame Bush crowd.

Especially the ones who are still blamming the man today.

And before you reply consider this:

I am NOT and never have been a FAN or Supporter of GW Bush.

I think that he and his "cronies" were MORONS, I just happen to think that we have an even GREATER bunch of MORONS in charge now.

Come on............. They don't come anymore Moronic than Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Barney Frank.

How has PresBo shown himself to be a great President since taking office only 6 months and 3 days ago?

Most rant and rave and do NOTHING ABOUT IT.  Get off your ass and do some talking to your Congressman. I do !!!! Angry

I do too, almost daily...

One of the FEW downsides of living in Texas... I rarely get the pleasure of getting worked up by the replies, since my congresscritters agree with me about 90% of the time...  angel

You can add another moron to the list...Al Franken...what a freakin idiot. He wasn't even funny as a comedian...but I'm sure he will be hilarious as a politician.

Quote from a friend, Bill Cawthon, on the subject of who is in control.

"A left wing revolution has been well underway since the 'sixties.   Have you not heard the adage that the 'sixties radicals, seeing that they could not effect a revolution in the society at large, went back to college, got their degrees, landed professorships, and are now teaching [brainwashing] America's youth.    It is absolutely TRUE!  I observed it well at work in the history department at the University of Georgia.

They have followed the Italian Marxist Antonio Gramsci's dictum of "The Long March Through the Institutions."   Gramsci realized in the 'twenties that Communism could not take over Western Europe and the U. S.  by violent means as it had in Russia, so he articulated the program which Marxists and other Leftists have followed ever since in the West:   gradually infiltrate and take over the basic institutions of society, the educational system, the media, the entertainment industries -- all sectors of public opinion which influences policy, and eventually you have control of society and government."

What year was there a communist party presidential candidate in the US?
