Have you had a bicycle in the driveway? That looks like a brake return spring off a bicycle to me.

I can only think of the kickstand spring... and that is too small and too clean to be it. Your wife isn't a practical joker is she? Putting parts/oil/antifreeze under other people's machinery is just mean.

Looks like a return spring off a carb bank interesting. My throttle does not self return I noticed on my first ride. Thought the cable needed to be lubed but guess that might cause it as well. Anyone confirm that's what this spring is?

Looks a lot like a "choke" or "enricher" spring to me. Is there a little hook on the end of the spring that is between your fingers?

I looked at a set of carbs and their springs that I have off my bike. None of them look like yours. They all have much more space between their windings and aren't has heavy a gauge as shown in your picture. I think you need to look elsewhere.

couple more pictures showing both ends. Looking at a parts diagram it might be a torsion coil spring from the carb assembly. Not a good detailed drawing on the diagram I'm looking at. I'm gone from home for the next several days so can't go take a look.

I'll go with the front peg or front floor board return, if you have one.

I think I would solve the throttle problem you metioned before you jump to any conclusions. That is a danger that needs to be dealt with. Bonus, if you find where it goes while you are working on it. Hoser

Contacted Woody (Christbiker) and it is off the riders peg. He had replaced the pegs for me before I bought it last week.

I knew that's what it was but got into the thread too late. Did he replace the springs and lost one on the bike? Or did he not get them installed correctly. They are not that difficult to get them reinstalled if use the right orientation.
