I think Honda used the same rings for all 1520cc motors.

I also think that the rings are cast steel rings.

What else could explain the longevity of the 1520cc motor.

It's a horse.

I thought we would have heard from some of the guys that have had a few of these engines apart.
I had to replace #6 piston due to improper initial factory installation. Honda refused to warranty it, until they saw it. Its been so long that don't remember much about the rings. I think I would have remembered if they were chrome, but, I can't remember what I had for breakfast.

 I would guess they're probably nitrated rings like most Jap cars but I'd just like to know for sure
 out of sheer curiosity. My Tourer is about to turn 100,000 and I've just gotten reinfatuated with it;
 like and old marriage that's suddenly heated up again.
