I'm in the process of pulling the trunk. I have everything disconnected but the tail lights. Is the connector behind the fuse mount in that plastic shroud? It's tough to get to and took me a long time to find. Also, when it's time to wire the new tail light can I just plug it back in and tap into that wiring? Hoping to dig into it tomorrow during this Michigan permafrost.

All depends on what you want to do.

From the main harness behind the RH side cover, there is 2 sets of wires for the rear lights.

There is 2 for the IS model, and 2 different ones for the Std/Tourer models. At the main harness, they  are the same.

So, you can go out and buy there 2 sets for a Std/Tourer, and plug them into your IS, and connect to the Std/Tourer brake/tail lights.

I just spliced into the harness behind the right side cover. Actually used the harness off my trunk and ordered a new one to replace the one I cut up. I recently put my trunk back on and still have the tail light working.
