So last year we managed to have no "Weekend Kansas FFR's"!  To me this is unacceptable and we can do better.  I think about the likes of Lindsborg, Wamego, and the fun we had, how can we allow this to not happen. So I am working on a fix for it, I have several ideas, but a major stumbling block is always when! Is March to early, will we still be in winter? April sounds good, but Hotglues BBQ is this month as well Easter. May is usually a nightmare with graduations, weddings, school getting out, along with Mothers and Memorial days. June is InZane on the 9-14, or rumor has it!  I will not compete against this, although my chances of going will be slim and none   . Plus Father's day. July has a Holiday and vacations for many, plus we are getting into the heat season.  August is hot with school starts. September again is a Holiday month, but not sure what else. October is usually the Mo. Fall Color ride that many attend. Whatever month we choose, I will be attempting to get the third weekend of the month to do this, exception would be April as the third weekend is Easter, probably the 4th weekend here. Part two of this is  : Do we try for a Friday through Sunday, or a Saturday through Sunday. Chime in with your ideas here. Instead of doing a second poll I will go with what the majority thinks in the comments section for this part. I need your input ASAP, so we can get a location setup. I am leaning towards a Friday-Sunday weekend. A tough act for me to pull off with my job, but I will commit to taking it off. I guess the other side of this should be do you want a lot of riding or more social time?

I dont know if i will have any extra time to take a friday off, but i will do what i can to be there whenever.
We really dont know what our plans are this summer
My thought process on Friday is to ride in after work, or when ever you can make it. Was not planning on anything but meeting up for those who want to Friday evening. That's why we need to start planning so we know what we are doing, before everyone commits to other stuff! |

We will try and make it to the January get together unless something unforseen comes up. Gary and Ginger. Sounds like a good idea for a wkend ride sometime during the year. My vote was for July. That's probably the easiest time for me to get away. We surely appreciate your work getting everyone together. You do a great job!!! |

I like the idea of a Sat-Sun event with Fri left to those who can make it.
I also enjoy the social aspects of these get-togethers.
With the exception of the Wamego ride, I usually have a good ride there and back, and sitting back and catching up with everyone is my main goal when we get together.

Did you have a destination in mind? Yes I do B! Hoping to have it all laid out shortly so everyone knows what, where, and when. The dates will be July 18-20th I have a Hotel I am working with I think will work well for us. Looking into a couple of places to ride to and some different things to take in. Hoping it will be fun for everyone. And of course I think, just in case, I have found some food locations. You know in case anyone is interested in that kind of thing! Not so far it can't be changed tho, did you have something in mind? JDW |
