Once again, the CenTex VRCC -- along with about 700 other bikers -- rang in the New Year by heading over to Javelina Harley in Boerne for the annual Blessing of the Bikes.

The morning started out nice and brisk with the temps in the 30's. Our plan was to meet up in Bergheim and then head into Boerne as a group. I showed up a bit early, so I tanked up, parked Hildr the Valk in the sun and warmed up a bit with a cup of hot coffee…

It wasn't long 'til the gang showed up…

We then headed over to Javelina Harley, parked, then meandered over to the registration area…

These folks were making a video, but I feel their sign kinda sums up what I'd like to say to all my VRCC friends who stayed home or were not able to make it…

The food line was long. This provided a good time for some tall tails and fellowship…

These volunteers were really working hard to crank out the food. The brisket tacos hit the spot and the coffee was nice and hot…

By the way, all this is absolutely
free! These CMA folks work their tails off every year for this event and ask absolutely
nothing in return. It is very admirable if you ask me!
There are always some great looking bikes at this event and this year was no exception…
Now that's a saddle!

Someone told me they counted at least a dozen Valkyries…they were not all VRCC!
We also met up with our friends from the South Austin Riders Group (SARG). This is the third year in a row that we have done that…
not bad!

Afterwards, a few of us went into New Braunfels for some lunch. This is Old Geezer's favorite joint and it did not disappoint…

So, with our tummies full, our bikes blessed and a brand New Year in front of us, we parted ways…
While riding home I couldn't help but to reflect on what a wonderful, crazy year 2013 had been. Plenty of milestones were met on many levels -- Family, business and personal. Looking forward to 2014 and all the adventures to come!
Ride safe y'all and we'll see ya down the road!
