Hi, I just bought a 2000 Valkyrie Interstate,  Motor Trike. 28k mi. Beautiful Trike. My question is when I go to Aux mode on the radio is there a way to hook up an IPod to the system? I also have a 2004 Gold Wing 1800 that has the plug to use an iPod. I had to buy the plug from a Honda shop, but it had the plug in capability to add it. If anyone knows if the interstate has this capability I'd sure appreciate to know were and how to add the iPod. Also if anyone could recommend good speakers to change to up grade the sound? Many thanks in advance fellow Valkyrie owners. Ray

Here ya go.... welcome aboard....

No special cord needed just a 3mm cord.

Do a search on "polk" speakers for a ton of info about speaker upgrades

There is a plug under the right side cover you can use. It is controlled by the Aux. in the radio.

You can find the wire (it may be hidden) by revealing the radio under the seat and inspecting the

wires to find the correct wire.  Wiggling the wire or tugging it will give you the necessary movement

to locate it under the right side cover.

I recently upgraded my '05 Wing speakers to Polk DB501's (4). I think that they are the same speakers. The DB series speakers are marine grade and are waterproof.

You can also install an aux fuse panel under the seat behind the battery. I have a 6 point fuse panel on a relay direct from the battery (fused) triggered by a wire in the right side panel that is hot only with the key 'on'. On the fuse panel I have my cig lighter and two USB outlets that continuously power my Ipod and GPS (I can go 10-15 hours with GPS and tunes). I also have a power point in my trunk to charge my phone or laptop and plans to add a CB radio.

I'm thinking of putting a second fuse panel inside the faring to power lighting, cruise control, power amp (for the 4 way DB501 speakers I've installed), and GoPro Hero camera.

Use fused relays, go nuts!

Did you ever find the problem to your radio sound?  I have the same problem now.  Everything was find, then no sound, the volume shows going up and down but, no sound coming out of speakers. Please email with ideas.  Thanks, Rick

Rick make sure you did not switch over to head phone mode. If you look on the information screen you'll see a head phone symbol. When in head phone mode the speakers are turned off.

The AUX wire is the thinnest wire coming out the front of the radio unit.  Gently pull it up out of there.  Easier to deal with when it is under the seat instead of behind the right side cover.

WOW Steve, I wouldn't have even thought of pulling the aux wire out from the right side panal. Just goes to show you, that its the simple things that matter.
