Made the trip today to see the Grump....  He's in good sprits all things considered... He has some nasty looking road rash on both knees , a broken big toe , small scratch on his cheek and
both hands are taped up ( broken wrist on one side and the other has broken fingers and missing
part of his pinky...  So he is full of screws and plates...
He doesn't know when he will be released... He'll be there till at least till Fri. or Sat. when the Dr.
will let him know....
Now for the fun part... He wouldn't shake my hand when I got there or when it was time to leave...
Now if you go to see him you will need a road map to get around in that place... I almost didn't find my car when leaving...
Oh yea , the most important thing is if you're there and he has to go to the head , you need to really watch out... you know no HANDS to hold things... It's like a sprinklers going off....   LOL
He's looking forward to company and going home....

Glad Grumpy in on the mend.  Most all would like to know what exactly happend to cause this accident!  I would also like to see pics of his Valk if anyone has taken pics of it.  Does anyone know if it was a tire failure or a mechanical problem?

Heal quickly old friend.  cooldude Jeff, the Nurse thing is a good idea. TJ, thanks for the update. It's amazing how quickly these things happen and your life can be changed for ever.

Sorry I can't go to see him, but we are in Charleston, SC with the new grandson until Saturday. Jeff, if you go give him my regards, and whatever parts of his you hold - I don't want to know! Shocked Embarrassed Roll Eyes

Looks like I am going to try to make it to see the grumpster on Saturday AM if he is still
there. Thinkin' about going over the Skyway and up the back way, as I'm not a I-4 kinda
guy. Anybody want to hook up to see Bill let me know. We can meet in Parrish or Wimauma
or somewere along the route. Let me know and we make a ride of it.   Cheesy

Billyboy, I would ride out with you Saturday if he's still there. Looks like he may be heading home soon. I understand you not riding malfunction junction and I-4...but
I would recommend taking Gandy to 60/Adamo Drive to 92. Going over the Skyway and doubling back would be out of the way and the wrong direction?

Billyboy,
If you can get to my side of the bay and follow Busch Blvd/Harney Rd through Thonosassa main street. Then left onto Fort King Hwy; it becomes Knight Griffin Rd. (582) right into Lakeland.  Knights Griffin becomes Knight Station Rd then Griffin road, all the same. It runs parallel north of I-4. Been riding it for years! Great back road ride through the strawberry fields and farmland. Generally very lite traffic if any. Check Google maps and you'll see the route I half ass describe. Very enjoyable route!
