Fuel tank level indicator

Hi bros!

Have fitted 29 lit fuel tank with a level indicator. Have just a smal problem: don't know how much it contains!!! did 280km when the engine stopped, reserve never opened, without any sign of low gasoline feed. The indicator continues to show half a tank even when it is empty. Have checked the installation, the floter is OK, it isn't obstructed in its movement.
 Anyone have had the similar case? How to do?

Does it have a automatic reserve ? Most are manual. If it is a manual are you opening the valve to the correct position ? If you open a manual valve to the reserve setting it will completely empty the tank.

If so, it needs to have the wiring pointing to the rear of the tank. If not, it won't read correctly and will give the partial readings...all inaccurate.

What is a fuel indicator? Does it work on a standard/tour? What does it look like?

1. Check the position of the fuel meter : should be with the wires pointing to the rear.

2. which indicator are you using ? Motosens ?
how is it programmed ? 94 (Full ) - 3 Ohms (empty) matches the Interstate Fuel Tank, but is opposite of most other fuel gauges.

The resistance readings are different from the post above. They are: Full=zero ohms, empty=90. That is the opposite of most other sending units, automotive or otherwise. The result is the Motosens or Autometer gauges have to be "specially" programmed, meaning you can't use any of the pre-programmed settings. And, when you program them, you must make certain the bike is upright before you start the process.
