I have a 99 Tourer, and was looking to pick up an extra rear wheel just to have on hand as a spare.  HDL has different part numbers for different years-at least between the 99 and 01 models I compared. Anyone know of differences in both rear and front wheels from year to year?

TIA

The 01 through 03 front and rear wheels on the standards/tourers are different. The centers of the wheels are a bit thicker near the hub and they are polishised and clearcoated.

The 99 front wheels use smaller wheel bearings.

Is there a problem with using a later model wheel on my bike in terms of fitting or not?

I understood it was the 97 that had smaller front bearings.?.

I believe you will find no problems with mounting any year rear wheel.

I/S wheels won't work unless ya take the disc and the caliper with it.

I have used an 01 Std rear wheel on my 97 Tourer,

I did not know for sure so we expiermented with a buddies bike during his tire change,,,,

Give it a try and change parts as needed,,,,,,

97 front wheels smaller bearing, although I understand late model 97 may have larger ones.
On rear, if you use the correct year brakes with the wheel, all will fit.
