After having a very informative discussion with "TJ" it seems that I irritate a lot of forum members with my numerous postings over such a short period of time upon purchasing my Valk.  He indicates that he, and many other members that he spoke for, would rather me just dig in the manual for technical questions rather than flood the forum with them.  He said it appears they didn't have the balls to tell me and they just let it slide.  I found it very distasteful to have insulting names casually posted about me.

So with this I will politely dismiss myself from further postings.  I do appreciate all the help and inspiration from the many members who have provided good tips and suggestions for me.  It's a great forum with a lot of good people helping others.

Thanks again,  RonHolly

Hold the phone there Ron...that just isn't so. I do not know whom TJ presumes to speak for..probably no one would be my guess, but maybe one or two if he is lucky. I was a new guy on here once myself..not too long ago actually. I asked a bunch of questions myself and always got them answered from this incredibly knowledgeable bunch of "Nice" folks. I emphasize that word because TJ is not in my opinion. My interactions with TJ have been limited to three times that I can recall. Every single time he has been rude and not willing to engage in a conversation.  At John Schmidt's ride in , December 2012, I introduced myself..again..and he actually just turned and walked away from me. I have no time for people like that and neither should you. So please don't let his words drive you off the board. I'm betting you will hear from many other members who will tell you the same thing. I felt like I was asking too many questions myself and was told by many, many members.."Ask Away", which I did. Do you ask a lot of questions..you bet, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't bother any one. He insulted you, your bike..and this fine board in my opinion. So hang in there Ron, heck, most of us haven't even met you yet and I look forward to it indeed!!
To you TJ: I read your rant in the other thread. How dare you make a new member feel unwelcome. This isn't your board..it's our board. You should be ashamed of yourself. If not, I am for you! Angry

Now what Ron.... You called me , I didn't call you... That's not quite what was said and you know it... As far as name calling no one has called you anything.. Well , I did after you called me an a$$ hole... You keep asking the same ??? over and over , why???  Just try and look stuff up for your self...  No buddy knows everything and most of us will help anyone who needs it but when you get an answer to your ??? and then ask it over & over it gets old.... I've been told to skip over your post and I try REAL Hard too but there is just so many of them.
Now if you want to take your ball and go home--- your choice ... no one here is asking that or
has ask that... your lost , our lost

Who are these many other members that he speaks for?

I wouldn't worry about TJ.  Every once in a while, along comes a jackass that deems himself the forum police and tries to tell everyone else what to do and bully some folks around.

Ask your questions Ron, that's what the forum is for.   cooldude

OK folks, enough already. I've met Ron and have no problem with him posting questions re. his bike....or anything else frankly. It's easy to sometimes forget we were "newbies" ourselves once upon a time. As for TJ, I've known him for quite a few years and have no problem there either. Maybe it's because we're both getting old and grumpy! Grin  In the past, I've seen him walk up and give Rita a hug so there really is a soft side(sorry TJ, ruined your image there). Wink

Having said all that, Ron....it's your choice as to whether you stay or leave. Personally, I'd prefer you stay.

Hey Ron, please don't leave.  Was hoping to meet you at the next group get together.  It does seem like you have many questions, so ask away.  Or PM me and I will answer via PM or ask for you.

Hey TJ.  I can't seem to find you at the meets.  Wanted to put a face to the name.  Love you that speak your mind and all that.  I prefer free speech, even when it hurts.

I've known TJ for many many years.   Our 1st meeting was either InZane 1 or 2.  He had his blower bike, with a CT.   He let me ride his bike to see if I wanted a car tire.   In my opinion, he is one hell of a nice guy who would do anything for ya if asked.

He has always been a up front guy to me.

I'm littler than he is so he knows he can probably whip my ass now.

Oh, 1 other thing, TJ will give you the shirt off his back or a spare part he has in stock if ya need it.

Ron the next time you see him, walk up stick your hand out and say, PEACE TJ.

RON, just ask away anytime you like... like i said before thats what the forum is for. there's more people to help you here and more positive things that would outweight your decision of excusing yourself due to one comment. these are some fine folks here and i mean it. however the ultimate decision is yours and love to meet you one day in one of the gatherings.

PS. Can't we all get along

Let me add this; Ron, if you have a Tech question you might consider posting it on the main Tech Board. You get a lot more exposure(the entire VRCC membership), and many more answers and suggestions to the problem. We Fla. members don't mind the questions but your source is limited by the numbers. The main Tech board is the place to go.  cooldude

One more for DON'T LEAVE.

We all have our days off.

I am a rookie on the Valk world as well and I have had it happen to me once, where I ask or approach a person and it seems like I am not received in the best possible way or that it might not be the best time for a person to be approached.

I move on, brush it off and just so happens that we get to cross paths again and it is a completely different story.

In the short 15 months of being a part of this bunch, I got to say that I have felt welcomed and even tough most have been here for like forever, they don't mind lending a helping hand.

Stick around, ask questions and whoever wants to help will answer your posts.
As time goes by, you will be the one answering questions and helping the newbies like me  cooldude

The way to stick up for one member is NOT by belittling another one. While we are all entitled to our opinions, some of them serve no purpose being dragged out into the open.  TJ is a good guy as John, RJ, and others point out. Not everyone is related to the welcome wagon lady. And there are days or times when there may be good reasons for any of us to not be in great moods to talk. Come to think of it, I have days like that also.  Embarrassed

As for Ron, can't say I've met you, though I look forward to that. You seem alright to me, and I'm glad of your enthusiasm for something I love also. John gave you good advice to take your bike questions to the Tech board on the main forum, but either way, I don't care. As for your leaving or staying, you're a man, and only you can decide that. I won't beg you either way.

And for you Larue, obviously the answer to your question is no. But then again, humans have been proving that since there was more than just one of us.

Peace to all, and good will to all men! angel

Hey, Ron
When I bought my Valk my learning curve was pretty much vertical as well. That is a good thing In my book as it shows your enthusiasm and willingness to learn. You may not get along with everyone but neither do a lot of us. Big deal.....Hell, my sister got me a tee shirt from Texas that reads "does not play well with others" on the back of it. I kinda' like that shirt. And, no...Billy and Larue....you cant have it.

I can very comfortably say that nobody here can speak for me and lump me into any group. As far as I am concerned... learn as much and as often as you like where it comes to your bike.

Hey Larue, that shirt would go well with the spiked helmet. Come on Pappy, let him have it.

Ron I haven't met you yet, just as I haven't met most everyone on the Fl. forum. I've PM'ed a few that I have met with questions that I'm sure they thought were quite basic. I was never lead to believe that I was asking too many questions, on the contrary they were very helpful with not only advice but also venders and part numbers that had worked well for them in the past.
I will encourage you to continue to post questions and participate in the discussions so that all of us who don't know the answers can also benefit.

I had plenty of questions when I first came here. The answers were always taken care of.
During some of those posts the answer came in the form of a link to the tech board.  Sometimes I may have been told to go to the tech board, but in a polite way.
I have never met anyone here so I know I am somewhat of an outsider.  I work around that. If any of you are in the area and need a hand I'll do whatever I can.
Communication is hard enough face to face but even harder on line because you don't get the body language and voice inflections.
  Forgive, forget and be polite.
